i've watched the anime and it's pretty old but it has a good story line.

I really enjoyed this series, although to be frank i kind of wished hime would have stayed dead. For two reasons, first off the moment where she died at the end was just so great and moving when Recca realizes what he has to do and finally can understand his brother and I think it cheapens it to bring her right back, and I like fuuko better and would have liked her and Recca to get together since she admits she likes him.

Recca was fun to read, I was glued to it during the battle sequences...
I loved his interactions with his flame dragons, and it was a cool premise for the manga... on the surface it is a cool story, but I found the underlying story interesting as well...

The manga of this series is one of my favorites (Top 3 I'd say), but I hate the Anime. It's exactly the same story so I don't quite understand why, but the anime bores me to tears. I guess it feels long and drawn out and a lot of the humour from the manga isn't there. Not to mention it just stops right in the middle of the story. The OP/ED are good though.
