any suggestions for subtitle programs?

i am looking for a quick and easy subtitle program to use. Right now, i am using adobe premier and it takes for ever to make subtitles on it since i have to make a new file for every "phrase" (or is there a better way to do it?...). I am looking for something like iMovie where you just type in the words and it appears on the clip (unfortunately i don't have a mac). and i don't want programs where they make a weird sub files.

are there any programs where u import a video file, put in all the subs and export back out as one video file? I dont need a super fancy program, just something simple and easy.

Hmmm i don't think there is a easy hard to hardsub and the method your using is good enough, there is a freeware program called vobsub and it's complicated to use aswell.
