Huh? How so? Because he's blue and blurs?
If you're trying to say Tron sucks, I disagree completely. Same with the old school Sonic. I like both of those things. |

I have nothing against game characters but I was much better off with the original sonic holding the sega genesis controller in my little hands with my big eyes staring at the screen. I watched that hedgehod run through levels and fight baddies, in a sense he was like some kind of hero figure. I grew up now I see Sonic the Hedgehog on Fox Box flipping through the channels in the morning for something good to watch. I thought to myself yeah this will be good, but he's just lacked character and anykind of ambitious feel to him. The Sonic I lost forever is gone. Though I enjoyed Sonic Adventure 1 which was the new release along with the Sega Dreamcast (too bad it got killed off in the market) Sonic Adventure 2 came out, then I was completely angered my the lame automaton of the whole game. All I did was push up and occasionally press the A button. The original sonic required some sort of finesse to manage with the twist and turning of the body to some how make your character jump a little further but this was made me sit on my ass and fantasize about pretty girls naked and what will I eat later instead of OH SHIT I'm gonna fall and die/lose rings!
This as well applies for Mario games. Mario RPG,Mario Land 3,Super Mario Land,Mario Kart and Mario Party (good for group fun) were the greatest Mario games to ever exist. All the 3d garbage just annoyed the living crap out of me. Mario Sunshine was one big example, clean dirty stuff instead of jumping on turtle to take their shells to later throw at them to their deaths. Mario had everything! Emotional Landscape,Ride-able Lizard/Horse mounts,KOOPAS,Romance,Tanuki suits,Flying,Coin Collecting and even a protagonist and an antagonist. Its a presentable storyline on its own. Though the image of Mario has not differed the whole gameplay has went down the drain. |

| I agree with Loveless on the topic on Sonic but not on Mario. Mario 64 was an amazing game with interesting environments. It did use the "collect this item" formula for a large number of the stars, but it also had some interesting missions like climbing up a mountain and defeating a penguin in a race downhill. I think that the 3D games are the natural evolution of Mario. |
