| Practically all comics/manga/manwha are all the same. It's just the difference in pronunciations, but the meaning is all the same. |

I really want to get into more manwha, but everything I've seen released in North America has seemed like cheesy action books.
I read Island which my friend lent me and it started getting alright, but then it went into this complete tangent storyline that had little to nothing to do with the metaplot and then ended the series on that note.
I like action books, but shallow "the most baddest man ever" fist of the north star books just don't do it for me anymore.
Can you point me in the direction of some good books? |

ro got boring after i hit job lvl 40...
the manga got boring after i hit volume number 4....
i made up the volume number but the manga did get boring eventually. still i really liked the 1st volume. didnt like the main char's name.... chaos... i guess if u dont speak english its ok..
D-ASH is a funny korean manwha. bout 3 guys and a girl starting a perverts club (the manga isnt as perverted as i thought it would be). its actually more of a track (the main character is a sprinter for his track team) manga. and romance... i think.
comics / manga / manwha / [insert chinese equivalent for comic]... all mean the same thing but doesnt refer to the same thing. because the nationality of the authors is different, the style of animation and even humor is different (tho i really have a hard time differentiating btwn mangas and manwhas sometimes). |

The easiest way to spot the differance is the direction the book's printed.
I read a little bit of a book at the store a while ago and it was pretty entertaining, but I don't really remember the name or the story specifacs. It was really romance of the three kingdoms like, but I don't know if it was chinese or korean.
Are there any english releases from other countries in asia? |

| I'm not sure about this, but i think that most chinese manwhas are about fighting. Cuz I always see my friend always reading chinese manwhas, and they are all about fighting.. |

Most Chinese manhuas do deal with fighting in one way or the other. It is somewhat imbued in the Chinese male psyche to worship the martial arts pugilistic world, 江湖 and its ideals of brotherhood, chivalry, honour and justice.
Still, there are other Chinese comics as well that deals with other things but they are quite rare... Old Master Q 老夫子 is a compilation of comic strips of the adventures of the common 'poor guy', somewhat akin to the Western 'Born Loser' comic strip or a bit close on the audience empathy like Japan's 'Sazae-San' perhaps.
Note that generally Chinese comics are from Hong Kong and are released fortnightly in a thin, fully coloured magazine format. There are also Taiwanese comics but these generally come in a book format. Singapore also has a comic artist that draws The Celestial Zone ( I heard it is also sold in the North Americas ) which is published with English and Chinese versions in both book and magazine format.
There are also tonnes of Japanese and Korean comics translated into Chinese. |
