hmmm my top osts would probably go as this

1. FLCL... the pillows kick ass Very Happy
2. Cowboy Bebop... Kanno Razz
3. Wolf's Rain... Kanno again!

Other then that I usually only like a few songs from each OST I download but those three I can listen to pretty much every song

That's my list, too! I liked FLCL's sountrack so much that I imported the Japanese cd here. Of course, it wasn't long before I learned that they were bringing the cd to the USA and localized booklet with translations...

My current vote would go to:

蒼穹のファフナー ( Soukyuu no Fafner )

They have two OSTs for this series. One having the OP - Shangri-la and ED - Separation, the other being the BGMs they use for the entire series. Both are just excellent even if you never watched the series.

hey guys have you heard the background music for furi kuri??
man that anime has a nonstop background music and its rock/metal too.
love the guitar licks on that series. although the furi kuri story is quite confusing i think it has one of the best soundtracks ever.

Furi Kuri = FLCL

Its been mentioned a couple times in the thread already =)

and yes, "the pillows" rock.. thats the band behind FLCL's rock music.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and GitS:SAC 2nd Gig both have awesome soundtracks, composed by Kanno Yoko of course. Hellsing has one of the best rock soundtracks in an anime i've heard. the only OP from Gundam SEED i've liked is the 3rd one, which i've been hard pressed to find. while the flow is off, i liked the OP to Samurai Champloo as well, just a good beat to it. 08th MS Team and Gundam Wing are another two, but my favorite anime song has to be Last Regret by Saina off of the Kanon OST. it deserves at least one listen, even if you've never heard of or like the show.

I'd have to agree with a number of the others, and say that Cowboy Bebop has the best soundtrack of the series that I've seen.

I was only going to write Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, but you reminded me how much fun I had listening to FLCL and Wolf's Rain soundtracks when I first got them. I'm not much of an OST lover, only keeping to songs that stick out and OPs/EDs, but those ones really catch my interest.

ive always been intressted in finding out how this works over there cause like, do all the op's and stuff get there songs from actuall japaneese pop bands... cause theres a lot of anime and there must be a butload of bands. Also maybe is it like cool to get a song featured on an anime cause if i heard like a good charlot song at the end of like yu-gi-oh i dont think my respect for the band would move anywere upwards at all. I have no idea how the politics of anime music work over there but if someone explained id be gratefull and fortunate Wink

hmm..
1. Naruto
2. FLCL
3. Prince of Tennis

But my favorite anime song would have to be either wind from naruto or the new endning song to bleach that came in episode 14.
