Spike can kick Shinji's ass! End of story...
I guess some people cannot get past the episodic format of Cowboy Bebop. I believe the success of this anime goes to weaving so many engaging stories into the lives of four hapless bounty hunters. And comparing Cowboy Bebop to EVA in terms of animation??? I don't know about that man... Bebop was above and beyond EVA in most aspects of the animation department. |

I agree with everyone who said,
"It's fitting that Spike died." A happy ending wouldn't have fit the moody story.
At least they established that, while none of the main characters would openly admit it, they cared about each other.
This was by far one of the best animes I've seen. I give it kudos for the soundtrack, too. "Call Me, Call Me," "Tank!" "Space Lion..." great for nostalgia and background music, alike. |

| but i did think the colour and animation was okay as well as the action. i liked some of the settings better than others. There was a time when i also liked the soundtrack. All in all, a bit hit and miss |

Cowboy Bebop is my all time favorite anime, no question. It is a classic and does not follow the conventional anime formula. I do not understand how people could dislike it, but then my taste in anime and mangas in darker than many people. My favorite manga is Blade of the Immortal. If anyone wants to discuss the show or characters in detail, I would be more than willing to participate. |

| i don't think people can say graphics were bad, since it was superior for its times. You can't expect an anime made in 1998 to be of same quality animation as today, which i remind you is 7 years later. |

this is what happened to the characters at the end:
Spike, Julia, Vicious, the Elders of the Syndicate, Spike's aunt (i think, she's the fat lady that owns that store) all died. Edward and Ein journeyed off by themselves. Jet and Faye are still alive and the series ended with them flying off (not as lovers). That's all the main/important characters i believe.

Cowboy Bebop is one of those series that I think grows on a person. It is a lot more meaningful to me now than when I first saw it. Then it was great, but now I really appreciate the unconvential aspects of its storytelling and its ending. Bebop is a really unified show despite its episodic format. I think you need to watch the whole series in order from begining to end to really understand the amount of character development that occurs.
Has anyone else noticed that the episode titles all reference music or classic rock?
In my nerdom I've listed all the episodes. I don't know the refereces for some of them, and I was wondering if anyone else could help me.
