cowboy bebop was such a cool anime it sucks that spike died he was my favorite character

I've always been wondering....what if Spike didn't really die, but just blacked out or something? I mean he's had worse injuries than before.

Also to back it up I've noticed that through out the whole series he questions whether he's "alive" at all. He questioned it ever since he and Julie were separated. For example in Jupiter Jazz part one Jet says "I'll never understand you" Spike only replies "Neither Do I..." This happens quite frequently but not really evidently in the series, otherwise you'd know what would happen and it would end up like a "Scooby-Doo" Anime *for lack of a better word*

At the last scene he comes down the stairs and before he dies/collapses he says "guess I wasn't alive after all." If you take the time to infere, When the series progressed he was always looking for Julia and Vicious using the Mysterious Background Talk as I call it; then Julia is killed, but he makes no comment about it. He only claims what he is when he kills Vicious. I believe he was just an individual trying to find out what his role was in life and who would accompany him. In the end he seemingly has no one else: Edward and Ein leave to find Ed's dad, Faye is off doing who-knows-what, Jet's in the hospital, Julia's dead, and now Vicious is dead.

Ehh, maybe I'm just looking into it too much.

Cowboy bebop is one of my favourite animes, and a big part of it is its ending. It just leaves such a sad, strong impact on you. Not to mention that song just sends waves of shiver down your spine.

This is one of the greatest anime ever made... my personal favorite and just a plain out classic... if anybody has never seen this anime... i strongly recomen you watch it or you should just simple get slaped on the head

Spike should die, bittersweet is waaaaay better, just fits in so well with the series as a whole. At least he died fighting for something he actually believed in.

Remix is coming out this summer. Looks like I'll be spending another $150. Gotta have it on 5-channel surround sound. So lovely.

I thought the series was good, but not great. It is far from being a classic but I'll admit it is easy to watch. There are a lot of filler episodes in this anime which I didn't care for. If they were going to have fillers, the characters at least should have been developed more in these episodes. I didn't find the characters very interesting at all, except for Spike. It's probably pointless to put spoiler tags on by now, but when Spike died in the end, it was entirely predictable from the point when his lover, Julia, was killed and then he decided to get revenge. Something just seemed awfully familar to me like in a lot of American movies I've seen. Even though predictable, I thought the ending was great.

There were only two episodes that stuck out strongly in my mind, and they were when Spike was fighting with Vicious in the church, and the last episode. Vicious was a pathetic villain, by the way. I don't remember much of anything else about this series other than it is overrated.

This was one of my favorite anime's to watch and I'm glad i got to see it but before we all kill ourselves over it, we should have a moment of silence for Spike, because he was awsome.
