| For Initial D, unless you are talking about the first stage, the CGI has done a very good job on giving the suspense to the audience(especially stage 2). |

| Its best if its used to enhance the anime. If it fails in doing so - Dont add it in. |

| Isn't new anime using computers to draw everything? I always thought that inu-yasha was done completely with computers, but like traditional cell animation. In that case, cgi belongs in anime. |

| CG is good for certain anime, depending on the style. CG is good for something like Ghost in the Shell, and not good for something like Naruto. |

Interesting subject.
I think CG is on a completely different level than anime because it's used more in the mainstream for movies and games, more than it is used in anime. However, many animes have CG characteristics in them. I'm kind of still up in the air about it. But I don't think CG should be considered anime. |

Umm, after watching Advent Children of Final Fantasy 7, I think I categorized it as anime... Dunno why...
I felt anime aura while watching it... maybe of the subtitles... I'm still not sure... hmm... is it? _________________ EX-mod |

well from what i see is CG is better to put on modern like Initial D rather that the classic anime like Naruto
means the backgroud time
well i still think it can be called anime if it is hand drawn though |

Use of CG in anime is inevitable. However, it should only e used to enhance anime watching experience. 100% CG wouldn't be anime would it? Then again what about FFVII:Advent Children....that's anime....ya? I consider it so and it was pretty good. i don't think CG will work on ecchi though...or not.
Anyway, these shows have put CG to good use:
Initial D (3rd stage and later, anything before looked like it came straight out of a cheap videogame. Don't get me wrong, i love ID and d guys that produce it were playing with a concept few were doing at the time of stg.1 and they've improved markedly since). While some anime that use CG machine CG the character driving it in ID the producers actually 'blend' handrawn characthers into a 3D car. Damn cool though by now it would sound old.
Macross Zero. Planes are better done in CG than drawing. Like cars, machines with a realistic look in a realistic environment make you feel like it's...REAL.
Yukikaze. Love massive aerial battles between ultra-realistic fighters? This the one i recommend but the storyline is very confusing. |

| If it is done well like Last Exile then computer graphics have a place in anime because they are only used to accentuate the anime. |

| CG should(in my perspective) only be in fighting scenes. Because in fighting scenes there are many possiblitys for example the camera going a round two people fighting , now thats is awesome. But if they use CG in normal scenes, then you can easily distinguish the CG because they dont really fit. |

CG should only be used in anime if necessary, unless the movie is entirely CG. Like Appleseed and GITS: Innocence.
Other times, it looks ok, such as Last Exile...they blend it in so well it's not noticeable at first.
The worst use of CG is when it's just horribly noticeable. Like Geneshaft. That one sticks in my memory for some reason.
(Oh yeah, all of this was my opinion) _________________
