the new "it" anime

"It" Anime would be Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, FLCL, and Naruto. I've heard of so many people say they watched these and begun watching anime. This is "new" stuff, not counting Gundam Wing, Dragonball, and InuYasha.

I feel pokemon is the It anime... it was okay at the beginning... or maybe i was 8 years old... either way... I quiickly fell out of it...
1. the kid never really lost.
2. if he did he would win the next day...
3 the rodents and things that walzted around started to get annoying...

and digimon... well... the first 2 seasons were good... but man as soon as they combined human and a digimon... my respect for it went downhill... very very quickly...

I was going to say that Digimon were in the "it" catagory. I've got to agree with your critic. It diffenetly lost its flavor after the first to seasons.

"IT" animes are the ones that have lasted for a long time and are still popular today...

DBZ
Digimon or Pokemon
and Naruto

These are "IT" animes for sure....especially Naruto...Naruto has hit it large!

I don't really think as an "it" anime as one that spawns millions of fans, and has merchantdise comming out the woodworks. These are simply fad anime's that try to feed a younger audience and profit from it, such as Pokemon and Yu-Gi--OH!. Both are very good anime, but they have been shoved down our throatds so much, it has lost all the spirit that one would associate with a truly good anime. Pokemon, being a show based on a game, was a good idea, but with more games, there were more episodes, but no new story. Yu-Gi-Oh is great on itself, but the dubb totally wrecks the spirit behind the story in an attempt to capitalize on the games that can be developed based on the series. The card game is fun, but there are only two real types palyers; those who are scary serious and spend every spare dime they have on strengthening their decks and mastering their strategy, or the 8-yearold who makes his mother buy all the card she can so he can run around, pretending to be in the show. These are just fads, as powerful as they may be.

An "it" anime is one that spawns an extremely loyal fanbase, people who watch and study the show, learn Japanese just so they can watch the original cuts, and emulate the characters both in cosplay just for fun, or truly change thier outlooks based on teh message in the anime. There have been many such anime in the past, DBZ, Gundam Wing, and Trigun. And if you were to ask me what the most recent would be. I would have to say Fullmetal Alchemist. It is just one of those shows that brings forth a new generation of true anime fans. The show is just so deep and has such a powerful message behind it that its just going to be one of those anime. And even those who don't totally engross themselves in the story will still get the complete series on DVD.

I'm gonna have to say the "IT" anime of right now is Bleach.

Naruto is gonna drag itself on and on and on into infernity and oblivion, and the only people who will follow it to the bitter, unfulfilling end will be the die hard Narutards (Think: DBZ and Inuyasha)

Pokemon(and all other XXXXmon shows) are for little 5 year old kids. If you can sit through more than 2 episodes of it at a time, you're either a saint, a kid, or Mary Poppins.

Bleach is definately an "IT" anime....When i first started watching it i thought it would never do well, but the story really picked up and is doing really well...Samurai Champloo has definately picked up a loyal fan base as well...
