wow....this one has it all: blood, violence, hawt chicks, pantsu shots, titties, sex, rape, watever u want its in there, sumwhere.
resembles a recent anime called ikkitousen this manga pwnz it to helllz, with better story, better characters, and more depth. dispite all of this, the story is a bit loose, and kinda jumps around. rumors have it that theres an anime version coming out in april, id bee looking forward to that, and hoping that its not another major disappointment.

Yes, I have bought up to Vol 10 (the latest so far & still ongoing). It is a much much better fighting manga. Of course the 'mature' elements are heavy as well. Definitely not for the young members of society.
I am looking forward to the anime. First episode supposedly will be broadcast over April the 1st according to Moon Phase. Hopefully they won't bastardize it to become Ikkitousen *shiver*.
I had suggested previously for A-S to pick this up to sub if they wish.
Edited: Typo correction darn *d* is next to *s*...

I had suggested previously for A-S to pick this up to dub if they wish.
Dub? Sorry we don't do dubs here =P
I picked up the manga series (thanks haro)... and read to Volume 3 so far.. I can definately see where the mature situations come in here... there's nudity and some fairly extreme violence... not as bad as Blade of the Immortal in my opinion but still lots of blood.
I still don't see how this is not Ikkitousen, maybe I haven't read far enough or something but again.. they both happen at 'school' loosely. There's a controling "enforcer group" and a fringe group fighting.
The only thing I see different is that the story seems more developed than Ikkitousen. Lots of background and unexplained relationships to be seen later on. I'm gonna have to read a bit more and see what turns up, but so far other than the cute girls.. the story isn't keeping me interested.
Yes, read all 10 volumes and you'll see that it's NOT Ikkitoussen.
Anyway, there are some decapitation later on too (and you can see all the intestines and stuff), but I think it's still fairly tamed compared to some of the manga that I've read.
I read up to volume 10 of the manga. I have to say even with all the plots being revealed and all, its still feels like a medicore series to me.
The plot revolves around fighting and people trying to train to become stronger to oppose the Enforcer group which has a past that goes all the way back to ancient Japan.
Maya seems like a rebel to me, she never liked her brother's group (secretly hunted the group members) and i'm not sure why she is going after forked eyebrows punisher guy, since he didn't directly cause the death of her brother.
The flashback is nice explains some details but it doesn't explain why things are happening like that. Characters feelings are fucked up. It just seems like a whole bunch of jumble.
There are some hilarious parts in the story however, I do like some of the humour and alot of the minor characters more so than the main characters.
To me it still is a fighting series, held together by a "history" between the characters and lots of fanservice. If I was gonna read this manga series, in truth.. it would be for the fanservice and the ecchi comedy rather than the fighting or main story.
I don't see the anime becoming a great thing either.
I read all of the tenjo tenge manga because i like the fighting and comedy. The 1st anime episode of tenjo tenge was kinda good, but i agree, the story is a bit confusing at times
Ok, lets get a bit of thread revival going for such a cool manga

i thought the nagi is one of the sub-clan of takanagi? the 12 red feathers make up the right side of phoenix n nagi clan is one of the red feather. Im askiin cuz i just finish ch.64 n souichirou was able to use other clan's members' technique n that techinqure requries diff. dragon's gate.wah my head is hurting
(continueing from the Tenjou Tenge anime thread)
The way I read that bit was that Nagi is special with his dragon's gate in the way that his dragon eats and assimilates the other dragons, stealing their power - that archer guy (cant remember his name atm) suddenly looses his ability to create water bullets... but look what Nagi can suddenly do after defeating him... _________________

Eh... no...
There are 7 Dragons within a human body. Each Dragon is associated with a particular element,
Akasagarbha (bodhisattva); the Receptacle of Void Spirit Dragon
Golden Arhat Dragon
Green Cycle Wind Dragon
Cyan Cycle Wood Dragon
Yellow Cycle Fire Dragon
Orange Cycle Water Dragon
Red Cycle Earth Dragon
Now everyone has these dragons in their body. To borrow the Dragon's Power, one has to gather his ki in a particular manner to unlock his own Dragon Gate. The way to unlock his Gate is different for each and everyone (thus the particular manner) and is based on his martial art style, training, personality, thinking and emotions.
The 6 households of the Takayanagi clan each has their own method to open their Dragon Gates. Natsume family as well.
But there is also the 8th "Dragon", which is the whole world. And that Dragon with the other 7 completes the Universe. That last Dragon is associated with the Nagi family.
While unlocking the Gates, one can command the power of the Dragons, the risk remains that if one cannot synchronise with & possess the strength of character to control the Dragon, one would be consumed by it. Thus the 'feedback' effect of mutation and madness. Each family specialised in controlling their Dragon, hence rarely ventured to control the others. It requires a special person to possess the potential for controlling all Dragons.
Souichiro is recognised for having the genes/potential for an "Exorcist" (I could be getting this term wrong) (similar to Shin & Mitsuogi). With the proper training & shaping, he would be able to unlock his Dragon Gate for all Dragons. As of this moment (Vol 10), he is still only able to unlock his Earth Dragon.
Summary:
1. Everyone has the Dragons
2. Only a few possess the potential to control all Dragons
All of these information can be found in Vol 9, Fight 52 & 53.

ah ok my bad
but i would be interested to know now why the archer guy cant do his own water bullets anymore
Eh... did I miss something here? I don't recall Tetsuo (I hope I got his name right) ever losing his ability to use water as his 'bullets' since his family's Dragon is the Water Dragon.
As far as the fight had went, Souichiro after getting hit by many water bullets went in and slammed the ground, pushing away the water. This eliminates the water base for Tetsuo, reducing the strength he can draw from his Dragon. This also gives Souichiro a perfect Earth base for him to amplify his own Dragon's strength. Tetsuo's water bullets now in the face of Souichiro's overwhelming onslaught can simply be evaporated away Souichiro also totally broke Tetsuo's main arm & hand into many many pieces. So Tetsuo countered by infusing his tooth with ki and using it in place of water.
The encounter was fought with power, skills & tactics (elemental usage & counters). Quite brilliant eh?
