I just came back from the theater, and here are my first impressions of the movie :
This volume 2 is the opposite of the first one. There's little to no action and a lot of talking. This isn't a bad thing in my opinion since the dialogues are well written and the story is awesome.
In fact, the only bad point was the white subtitles. You couldn't read anything when there was a white background, and Pai Me (The Bride's sifu) is dressed all in white (he speaks mandarin, cantonese and japanese, lots of subs in these scenes).
I loved it. As i said, the story is awesome and Tarantino's humor is great in this second part. |

yea i also saw this movie this opening friday. i thought it was great, though not as bloody.
I will say something about the part with That white bearded guy, pai. the cantonese he uses is extremely funny, me and my friends were teh only chinese people in the whole theater so we cracked up when he started yelling in chinese.
i guess you have to be able to understand atleast some spoken chinese and realize how horible the subtitles were (which adds to some of the humor because old chinese films were like that), and also how extremely funny the chinese was.
he was talkin like a freak! lolz. but he so gang*.
o yea lemme ruin the movie : she tries to kill bill. -.- |

Uh, haven't watched the movie yet (have to wait for it to be released over here) but am eagerly anticipating it.
But I have to say both your pronunciations are wrong.
He's Bai (curt Bye) Mei (short May, soften the tone at the end). Chinese characters 白眉. Literal translation : White Brows.
And there might be a Kill Bill 3 from what I heard, except that its more like Kill Bride. |

I coulda sworn the title for his chapter called him Pai Me.. but hey I could be wrong I only remember 3 names from the whole movie lol. Man I loved this 2nd part just as much as the 1st. The dialogue throughout the whole movie is just genious and l was laughing my ass off on most parts. Man the saddest part of this whole thing
is that Budd was the only guy that came really close to killing Beatrix... and damn haha crazy eye patch chick(only remembered 3 names hehe) really got screwed over
. Overall a great movie! No where near the amount of action as the first but the dialogue definately makes up for it _________________ Urgo... living in Vancouver now go Calgary Flames! |

If it is named as that, then Quentin Tarantino messed up. Cause no Mandarin pronunciation or even Cantonese (main Hong Kong dialect) matches that "Pai Me" pronunciation for "White Brows"
I'm just wondering how long before the film is released in this region *sigh*... |

One thing America does have over Japan... Get the Hollywood movies first and they also don't cost you YOUR SOUL to go see. |

I just watched this movie.. coupled with Vol 1, this probably has to be the most unique and quite entertaining movies I've seen in a while.
Volume 2 has no where the amount of action as volume 1 but vol 2 compensates with an outstanding storyline and dialouge. Some of the stuff said in the movie is absolutely hilarious.
I definitely recommend that you guys go watch these two movies... and if you've already seen the first volume... what are you waiting for? =) _________________

Yep I'm a late watcher. I liked Kill Bill Vol 1 & I liked Kill Bill Vol 2.
The corniness is still there held together by good directing.
I really loved the California Mountain Snake-Black Mamba fight. The conclusion was so ewwww satisfying.
The "Pai Mei" (they used Pai Mei indeed, a gaffe. In Chinese, its Bai Mei. Cantonese Bak Mei ) and Bride's conversations were also funny. I understood 70% of the Cantonese spoken then. Yep the subs were bad but not atrocius. Actually if they wanted to pay a tribute to the bad subs, they should make the grammar suffer. As it was, the bad subs had pretty good grammar.
Now I shall be planning to buy the Double DVD pack... unless Quentin announces Kill B Vol 3. |

kinda reminds me of my conversations with my parents...they talk to me in cantonese and i talk to them in english...heh
but yea i loved that part the most....a nice bash at older cantonese kung fu films. _________________

Ahhh, Kill Bill! What a great set of movies. Volume 2 was great in the fact that the time with Pai Me reminded me of all those old school Kung Fu movies I watched. And the way he just throws his beard around is downright hilarious. VERY good story, not as much action. I wished there was more. But hey, I can always watch The Bride vs The Crazy 88 if I'm in the mood for a long fight scene.
Oh, by the way, there's a rumor going around that Tarentino actually MIGHT be making a Volume 3. If anyone can find some info about that, I would be most thankful. |

Heh, Pai Me was the man. I really wanted to see him go all out on some one though, maybe mess up his beard a little ^^.
This movie was entertaining to say the least. As for Kill Bill vol . 3 (Kill Bride), if it's gonna happen, it'll probably be about copperheads daughter trying to kill Beatrice. |
