Van Hellsing and Hellsing

For more information about vampires, read Bram Stoker's Dracula (it's a book! *gasp*). It has Abraham Van Helsing (the founder of the Hellsing organization) and has nothing to do with the Gabriel Van Helsing from the movie (he was completely made up just for that movie).

i dont really think it matters if he was a made up character he still rocks as did the movie although i didn't think that dracuila should be able to turn into that giat bat thing anyone else think that sucked:?:

well vampires are batlike creatures so it would make sense if he turned into one Razz

and i htink there are heaps of vampire stories where the vampire can take on diff animals forms and stuff

i saw the anime first, and i sorta liked it, it was interesting, anyway, it hyped me up to see the movie and the graphics were good, but i didn't like the storyline all that much and for a vampire movie, i didn't think it was all that brutal/bloody/voilent either, well compared to anime Razz

i think the anime gave me too much expectations hehe, my friends didn't like it all that much either

There is no connection at all between Van Helsing the movie and Hellsing the anime, anything else is just a coincidence. C'mon, think about it, Van Helsing was made in America and Hellsing was made in Japan.

Actually they are loosely connected only by the fact they both borrow from the novel Dracula... as does almost every single vampire story out there.

The only thing left to add is a question, did any of you know that there's a prequel to the movie? It's an animated bit about Van Helsing and Jekyll/Hyde. Either Van Helsing or Hyde (or is it Jekyll?) make referance to a fight before they meet in the beginning of the movie and the animated bit is supposed to be about that. Just a little FYI if you didn't know..

FYI, I didn't hate the movie, I just didn't like the nonhistorical part about it (history buffs unite!).

Anyway, where is this animated bit? I'd like to see it.

errrrgh Hellsing and the Vanhellsing movie? Not comparable. The anime is far different from the Vanhellsing movie. I hate that movie but i loved the anime.

I think both Hellsing and Van Hellsing is a vampire hunter but there is between between those two. Hellsing is a half vampire and half human while Van Hellsing is pure human.It's very different then.
