yay, ep8 is almost normal! I'll have to see what they do with 9 and 10 before I start getting my hopes up.
The grammar in the subbings... all of that's on purpose right? I hope it is :p _________________

You're talking about the Lunar subbings, right? Yeah, I think it's their attempt to make the peasants sound more uneducated. Their Japanese is probably rough, and that's how Lunar decided to translate.
At least I'm pretty sure that's how it is. |

Lunar does that, they try to stay as close to the original language as possible. The grammar does drive me crazy, but then I remember it is supposed to be like that. _________________ Ask me a question, and I will answer to you with my fists of fury!1!1!!1!!!! |

Yeah, it literally had my eye twitching. I admire Lunar's dedication to details like that, but I prefer a little cheating. *shrugs* |

| I'm been a big fan of this series thus far, but I've seen the raws of the latest episodes and was a bit turned off by something. How do you feel about steel swords being able to cut up giant robots? |

in the first five minutes of the very first ep, there was a guy jumping aound thounds of feet above the ground slashing gigantic ships in half, and i knew then that this would be one of those most bs filled anime, and so far...i think im right. _________________

Straws have been known to pierce and cut through trees when slammed into them with enough force, often without any damage to the straws themselves. This is one of the fascinations that go with tornadoes and hurricanes.
So I assume that this anime is based upon the same principle. The samurai are obviously of super-human abilities, but such is the way of these types of stories. It's mind over matter, chi/ki/reiki/chakra against physical impossibilities. I like to let my own imagination roam, especially with the more farfetched ideas.
So as far as I'm concerned, this is an awesome anime thus far. Except for episode 7. That really sucked. |

it's like papercuts. only whole fingers get loped off.
although the ease that they chop up those meches... it's a little crazy. it's like swiss cheese when you watch them.
but that hasn't taken down my opinion of it; I'm still liking this anime. _________________

| I still very much like Samurai 7. It's still definitely a cool series, I went back and watched the 1st episode again. Yeah, I guess Kanbei was doing the same type of thing, actually even more so; cutting up huge spaceships. But I guess that's okay. |

so uh, about episodes 11/12... you guys DID watch them, right?
or were you too excited about EL8?
my only surprise is that they can fortify that whole place and get all that stuff done in a few hours... and how they can make all that iron (there was a cart that loaded up a ton of iron sheets) from just a village. Also odd where they got those pullies...
still good episode, left sorta on a cliffhanger... it's getting excitingg.

i think this series is getting better. I think the comedy is complimenting the action part of the story. the last 3 episodes were all really good. each samurai character is very distinct from the others and that is cool. some of them are the usual stereotypes, but i still like how they are being developed. i keep thinking trigun whenever i see kyuuzo tho.
one of my favs this season.
so do you think priestess girl likes kyuuzo?? and will kyuuzo end up killing kambei? i think no and no. |

I think no and no. She has a thing for green hair I just know it.
It really surprised me that Katsunoji had enough skill to cut through steel like he did. And Heihachi has a bad ass killing side over that up beat friendly personality. That is not the first time he wanted to kill a traitor, me thinks he lost something because of a traitor.

| Heihachi is the most interesting character, imo. |

Ya we know very little about each character but he is the one who is the most mysterious (at least to me). Maybe it is because he is not the average character like Kyuuzo and Kambei. _________________ Need help adding an image to your signature? Click here then. |
