Yeah, it's been half a month since Eps 3 and 4 are released on pay-per-view in Japan, so naturally the next two are out... I don't see why the quality will suffer though. |

| Half a month? Didn't the subs come out last week? And 3 and 4 came out pretty much a full month after 1 and 2. I guess all that talk about it being a monthly series was bullshit. Oh well, at least we'll get Samurai goodness sooner. Hopefully it won't be a crap ass series like RoDTV, which releases on the same type of scheduling. I'd much rather it be a GitS:SAC type of releasing scheduling, and have amazing quality, rather than a series where a paper butterfly phases from one hand to another. |

It was never supposed to be a monthly release, don't know where you heard it from. In fact the schedule for it had always been up here: http://www.animax.co.jp/ppv/samurai7/ There's a typo in the site though since they accidently put Ep 12 there twice.
The first two episodes were on there for a month because of the need for exposure... They need more time for people to watch the first two episodes and be hooked on it (once again this is a pay-per-view program, so people can watch each set of episodes anytime before the start of the next set of episodes)
And unlike ROD the TV, which was only being previewed on PPV (with a crappy "beta" version) and was then aired on Fuji TV, this one will only be available on PPV. So it can't be quite the same. |

Actually it might not be a typo if it is a 25 episode series. Ep 12 could serve as a recap and convenient filler to shore up the odd number of episodes for a two-episode-per-fortnight release. |

It's a typo, since it explicitly states on the page that it's a 26 episode series (and the same info was listed on a magazine, only with the correct episode numbering) |

I just finished watching the original Seven Samurai and I'm amazed at how good it is, definitely one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm just not sure if I approve Gonzo messing around with it (considering that it's already perfect). All the stuff they've changed so far to stretch the story and make their show more attractive to the masses is pointless.
I guess it can't turn out bad since the original has such a great concept but they've already destroyed a few of the its main good points.
Btw one thing I really want to see is how they'll handle Kikuchiyo, he's such an amazing character. |

Hmm... 5 and 6 were still pretty good, but the fighting animation has definitely gone down a bit. Especially that fight in episode 6 where Kanbei knocks everyone down... that was poorly done, and even Jackie Chan Adventures had better animations than that. Hopefully, these are just flukes, and that it'll get back on track.
Storywise, pretty good setup to introduce the last samurai, since it's probably him that did the messenger in. Wonder what they're going to go with the whole "Merchant vs. Samurai" arc. And did Kanbei grab that guy's balls? |

Yep, he certainly did
Just another illustration of how Kanbei doesn't strictly adhere to rules. |

yeah, I was gonna comment on that last night but I was so tired I just went to sleep. The animation made me feel so disoriented.. it was like some other dude just jumped in and started drawing all crazy. _________________

| Geez... Seems like Dr. Movie screwed up majorly with the animation direction... But at least the second half of the episode wasn't too bad. And Ep 8 looks like things are back on track (haven't seen it yet though) |

It is a relief to see that episode 8 came back on track in the animation department. I wonder if we will ever see the young samurai *His name escapes me at the moment* kick some ass. _________________ Need help adding an image to your signature? Click here then. |

LOL!!
Good to see that I wasn't the only one going "wtf?" during episode 7.
Anyway, does anyone know how long it may be before an OST will be released for this series? |
