Hmm its so weird to see a bunch of the new korean singers going to Japan. I mean BoA is fine, she doing great both ways, but to see other artists following up, thats just gonna change everybodys view on them.
Listening to se7en's new hikari single just made me think of it. Cause that song he sang just doesn't fit his style at all.
Bi's japanese for "I do" is pretty good though. |

| I agree, but there are lots of people in Japan that love Korean singers. I guess it's all about popularity. |

I heard that they go to Japan because not many people in Korea buy albums anymore. The Japanese tend to buy albums. And also.. it gets the Korean stars nationally known.
Yeah.. I agree with you, though. Hikari was not Se7en's style, but it was really good. But I'm surprised. I actually dislike a song from Se7en. His newest Japanese single, 'Chiri Boshi' I hate it! But every single other song of his are really good. |

i'm not really a fan of korean music... at least not korean pop.
BoA has a few good tracks but i think she really only caught on because she was so young when she started and because of her looks (looks is 50% of success in music, i guess... =P)
i think the japanese have an infinite appetite for the international. wether it's western or asian. |

| Korea is #1 or 2 worldwide in IT, therefore, everyone is crazy with computers there. Thats why people would much rather pirate stuff online than buy it. However, Korean singers are very good, and deserve recognition. |

| people tend to not buy albums anymore when theres the dl for free...and its easier..just a few buttons away... and Korea is big on technology..have you seen those commercials for cell phones?? its awesome!! and thats just for phones...think of computers and all the other stuff.... so i guess the singers would go international .. =/ i haven't heard bi's i do yet..but i thought se7en's hikari single was pretty good... love the crazy and chri boshi song ^^ not big on the hikari song itself though.... but i wish i knew korean too... if not.. japanese ^^ |

yay for DBSK!
although i must admit, i really don't like their
japanese songs as compared to their korean ones.
other than a select few.
younha debuted in japan since SM rejected her, which
is a huge loss on their part.
the TRAX is more popular in japan than in korea mainly
because korea is more of a "pop" music oriented country
full of boybands. but at the same time they're not doing
so great because japan as most of you know, is FLOODED
with all these bands, with many more being underground
but really its not surprise, japan and korea are so close
together, obviously they want to pursue the market. not
to mention SM is kinda sending people to japan, china, thailand,
phillipines and such. overall trying to take over the asian market. _________________ "The basis of optimism is sheer terror."

Alright! Back on A-S
Korean singers and such... hmmmm, I'd say DBSK!!
first I saw them on the SM Entertainment's group "SM Town" then I watched their Mini Dramas "DBSK" then I heard their songs... Boybands sure are popular in korea and japan.
dunno about M.I.L.K., I mean I like their songs, though their group was short-lived, I only heard two songs
not
to mention SM is kinda sending people to japan, china, thailand,
phillipines and such. overall trying to take over the asian market.

hmmmm, never heard of SM entertainment going commercial here in the Philippines... My Friends, those who are anime and J-Pop collectors, do not know about this entertainment corporation.
anyways, is SM Town still up and singin'? |

Korean cd's are a lot cheaper about 10-12$ and japanese go from 25-30$ avarage.
I think the most famous korean popstar has to be Rain(Bi) he also did a tour in USA.
Korean music is more pop/R&B while in Japan pop/rock is more popular.
Korean artists like DBSK, Rain, Minwoo, 7even, Tasha(my fave), Drunken tigers(very good rap crew), Wheesung, Gummi and so on and on all do pop/R&B type of music. And they seem to have their moves down.
Rain is like the korean Timberlake ^^!
Ye guys should check out some of their music vid's on youtube or veoh ^^.
Crystal Kay who's pwetty famous in Japan is orginally half korean and black but she's been singing japanese from when she was 12 or something? |
