Recently my computer has been slowing doen. I don't really know what's wrong with it so I can't explain it that well. When I move my mouse the mouse does not move smoothly like normal, but instaed moves something inch by inch, sort of like frame by frame. Really slow, not the normal kind of slow, this is more like your computer running like it was a movie with each frame slowly popping up. Sometimes my mouse unclicks by itself while I still have my hand holding down the button.
When I try to watch anime it sounds like a DJ is messing with my audio. Each frame comes up sand sometimes just skips some frames. I don't really know how to explain it so I'm sorry, but do you guys know what's wrong? Is my hard drive going bad? not enough RAM? I have 58.5 GB used on a 80GB hard drive with only a 256 MB stick of RAM to support it. Can some one ple~ase tell me what's wrong so I can fix it? maybe I should defrag it? _________________ The hardest person to forgive is yourself~ |

| Check for spyware and viruses. You may have some background programs that are running illegal options to take up system memory on your computer. If that doesn't work, try defragmentating your computer. Most likely that would help. If all fails, something may be wrong with your hardware. |

Spy ware, don't believe I have any. System memory still seems fine, except for now its running 35 processes using 212896 of the memory when it used to run 36 processes while taking only 180869. The only thing I can think of right now is to defrag it. I have never drefragmentated my computer before so how long do you think it'll take? _________________ The hardest person to forgive is yourself~ |

The longest its ever taken me was 2 hours and a bit, but i'm not sure about your computer. Sometimes it can take 20-40 Minutes if you don't have a lot of your computer. Give it a try. Most likely it'll work. |

Which version of Microsoft do you use. Each version has its own way of defragmentating. To save time, i'll just give you the information to defrag.
WINDOWS 95/98 DEFRAG
* Click Start
* Click Run and type defrag in the run box
* Click ok
* Within the defrag window, select the drive that you wish to be checked and click ok.
WINDOWS ME DEFRAG
* Click Start
* Click Run and type defrag in the run box
* Click ok
* Within the defrag window, select the drive that you wish to be checked and click ok.
WINDOWS 2000 / XP DEFRAG
* Double-click My Computer
* Highlight a local hard disk drive by clicking on it once.
* Right click the highlighted local drive
* Click properties
* Click the tools tab and click the defragment now button. |
