Sorry to burst your bubbles guys but this is one of the great animes that was just a little short of perfect to me....

I have some major issues with the anime including:

1) The main male lead. He was an absolute hopeless clueless typical anime lead male. He even was drawn typical. I mean all the episodes could have been easily resolved if he would just state what he felt instead of what the writer wanted him to feel.

2) The part where the leading female character stops swimming to take care of the main leading character. I just can't see it happening.. why stop swimming? Taking care of a person doesn't require you to quit a hobby. Especially when that person seems to have bounced just fine and became later a waiter in a restraunt.

I think the story was pretty good, excellent setup and lotsa little goodies in it. I think the sex scenes helped attract a lot of young audiance but the fact is... in real life... things would have been so different than what the story told, but the way it was setup made it more exciting than what real life story would have made it.

I finish watching this anime, my impreesion of it is excellent, but there is some point that make me unclear.

Did Mitsuki and Takayuki went back together?, b/c and the ending I just see Takayuki walking on the street and Mitsuki crying after reading an article(about Akane comments), b/c i know Takayuki move out from that apartment so I'm not sure if they went back together and did Takayuki go to Hokkaido?, b/c I heard something like that in one episode?

Also about the anime, even though is very good there is couple points that in RL(real life) situation would never happen IMO, like

1. In one episode, Mitsuki strip over Takayuki and make love, b/c she was in pain seeing him in some sort of depressing status. Which I think that would never happen to any of us, which too obvious lol... I wish that could be true for some of us(daydreaming)
2. Another would be when Mitsuki was kinda lost in her mind, and went to a hotel with another man, but Shin Ji stop her, IMO why would he care so much about, huh?..... in RL many people would careless of someone live
3. About Haruka's coma, that was too much, 3 yrs!!!....I never heard someone being coma for 3 yrs...but I'm not sure whether a person can be in coma for 3 yrs or not...so IMO is fake....3yrs coma she's should've been dead already...lol

Well that what I think, correct me if I am wrong....lol

Overall rating from me is a 9/10 =)

In KGNE there is one thing that is bugging me so much

In one episode Takayuki have some sort of depression that had been for almost 1 year after Haruka accident. Is this could happen in real life too?, being depress for 1 whole yr?

Possible, but not likely. But when you consider what kind of guy Takayuki is, it does make it seem possible. Love this anime! Masterpiece in my book, but a 9.5/10 overall. Even if not a perfect score, still is on my top list(my number 1!).

What I didn't get is at the end The book that Haruka published was by the writer Makimura Haruka, not Suzumiya Haruka....o_O; What is up that? Is she married?
That's what I had previously thought but then I saw the sequel(Akane Maniax) and she seemed to still be living with her family and looking at a picture.

Recommend this to true anime fans. Not all will like it, but that is the kind of feeling the creator wanted you to have. And for people who hate, get a grip. Don't confuse your emotions with you logic. Even if you hate it, the creator did his job perfectly and made you feel that way, so acknowledge that it's good Cool

This is certainly a great Anime. I'm really not into romance stuff, but KGNE is a must-watch even for such outsiders. Loved the show and the ending is very emotional.

So people have questions? anwers!!

espionage9: Yep, it can happen alright. Takayuki was convinced that her accident is his fault for goofing off and being late. Besides, he DID like Haruka a lot, and her loss was really hard on him. Add to that the fact that her parents eventually forbid him to visit her and I see a potential recipe for complete breakdown. like he had. i bet this kind of depression happens in real life. Proably not to you and me, but people do get that kind thing
Takasan: It is a Pen-Name. Not all authors use their real names when writing and use a made-up name instead. Mark Twain, for example, is a pen name. the guy's real name was... uh... something else Wink

. hehe. I think that Haruka just made up that as her pen name. And yes, in Akane maniax she still lives at home, which further suggests that she's not married, and if she were Akane probably wouldn't badger herself as badly there.

oooh! I never knew that. Thanks for clearing that up even if it was such a simple problem. and btw I wrote that wron, it was Murakami Haruka not Makimura =P don't know where Makimura came from Confused

And about Akane Maniax...I thought the show was over....but now I want to see more....it doesn't seem to end yet! Evil or Very Mad

I think I'm in love with Akane ^-^

The anime was a very highly class anime I've ever seen... Especially by the drama genre... Ofcoz I really mean it by not have any abnormality as shoujo or magical stories even a legends..

This is really of the best anime for its genre (drama/romance) n one of my personal favourites....i really cried when i watched this cause it showed how bad reality n fate can suck. And really i one hell of an emotional ride. And it highlights one of the many problems tt guys have nowadays n tt is not learning to speak up and it causes lots of problems....and this anime perfectly depicted it...

Btw on the question on whether mitsuki and takayuki went back together again.... look at the last part where she reads the papers she has her ring back on again...

Yeah this is a good romance(kinda realistic) anime as compared to some others which either have a harem or some crap shit and lots of fan service (just 2 girls are enough to make this 1 guy depressed, imagine a few more for him)....but somehow or rather i wouldn't wanna watch this kind of anime too much. It's too serious and emotional, preferred action, light-hearted and comedy types, but i can still afford some time for this but not too much, Just dun like to keep thinking 'COME ON WTF ARE YOU DOING!!' for the main guy , i may get crazy over that.
