World of Warcraft - Is it fun?

I enjoy it, Runing around and helping others is my favorite thing to do on the Arthas Server. I have a lvl 53 Pally, I concentrated on my Engineering first so I could have some cool stuff to play with. Right Now I can use 3 pets at 1 time. I'm sure we can probably use more. The most fun is when you combine your Fighting with your Profession. That's for sure! But Don't take my word for it, JOIN US!!! hehehe, if you want, you can come to my server and I'll help you out. Just Look for PantherX and/or the Dragon Knights. We are pretty Friendly

Don't think there's any game better, at all.
but when u play, be a horde person. Being a alliance person is dull, really, really dull. And be a good class like shamans or hunters.
Pallys are one of the worst classes cuz they totally suck at combat.
Also, it's not even as good as a shaman at healing.
Be a tauren Shaman. If u get to lvl 50, u probably can own a lvl 55 pally's arse.

lol ya pallys are actualy good you just have to know how to play them. Every class is actualy good as long as you know how to play them right.

World of Warcraft is a very fun game. It does have it's negative aspects, but that is true for all games, not just MMORPGs.

It's true that the patching process can seem to take a long time when compared to other online rpgs, plus I'm not a big fan of Blizzard using BitTorrents for patching. You CAN download the patches directly though.

I've found that while both Horde and Alliance have their good points and bad points. From my experiance, it seems that players who play Horde tend to be more polite and mature. I'm not saying that Alliance players are mean or rude. Not at all. I'm just saying that there tend to be MORE nice players on Horde. There are few players on Horde though. (On most servers)

There is currently a level cap at 60. They are implementing soon (I hope) some more higher-end content. One thing I will say about leveling is that you level a LOT faster in this game than any other MMRPG I've played.

All in all, I really enjoy playing World of Warcraft and I would definetly recommend it.

Pros:
- Leveling isn't as obscenely hard as it was in, say, FFXI, where leveling took FOREVER.... if you didn't die.
- You get 10 chars PER SERVER! You could have every combination of race and job over a few servers if you really wanted.
- The new release has an honor system, where you get rewards for killing the players from the other faction.
- It's Warcraft, so easter eggs galore!!!

Cons:
- It takes less time to level, but it still isn't like you can hit level 60 in a week (if you HAVE done this, I don't want to know... you need a life). You still need to grind a lot, even when questing.
- $12-$18 a month... not exactly cheap...
- DAMN YOU IRONFORGE FOR LAGGING MY COMPUTER!!!! I only have 512 RAM, so my computer dislikes some of the more populated areas...

Great game. And honestly, I don't know what people mean when they say "The game ends at level 60," because if they say that, they are probably in a trash Guild or have no social skills whatsoever. MC, Onyxia, and other raids have constituted 1/3rd of my total playing time, and this is after I hit level 60.

This is the first MMORPG I've ever played, and before this, I never even considered playing these games because of the monthly fee. But I found a deal online that gave me 2 months for 15$, so thus began my addiction.

The biggest problem with this game is the simplicity. You can jump onto the server, find a group (easier for me, since I'm in the 3rd most skilled alliance guild on my server... always a raid going on, oh yeah, we cleared MC in 12 hours, if you're wondering how good we are), and then waste the next 2-6 hours hunting for items. With that said, the biggest challenge of this game is to stop playing it, and depending on who you are (i.e. college student), this could be a very intense problem. It is insanely addictive and easy to play, so if you want to have a life, do not play this game. My real life social interactions have taken a huge hit because of this game, so if you have a girlfriend or such, this is not the game for you. However, if you've just broken up with them, then play this game like mad.

To the person that thinks the game is getting boring... Go level you noob. You have a bunch of lowbie characters, no wonder you think it's boring. No one wants a 36 warrior in Mara or Uldaman. No one wants rogues, period, there is way too many. No one wants a shadow priest in high level raids. The game doesn't start till 60, in my opinion.

Also, Pallies do suck. I'm sorry, but you guys are the most populous of all alliance classes, and it's annoying to see so many noobs play them. Pally is basically "easy mode" with their 3 lives, healing, and divine shield, so usually, the worst players go Pally. I've yet to lose to a pally in a duel, so I'm in a pretty good position to say this. Rogues at least take some skills with their button mashing skill sets. Let me just give you an idea of what pallies do in MC. Stand back and watch while the Warriors tank, the priests heal, and the mages/hunters nuke the boss. Your auras are the only thing keeping you useful ever since your DPS went to trash.

I play on Frostwolf, 60 mage in RICE.

I have actually been grabbed by the game myself, albeit I don't play MMO-anything since I have been playing games.

The game is one of the best PC experiences I have ever had, and would reccomend it to anyone who is looking to dip their foot in the water, or is looking to invest hundereds of hours.

If you don't want to pay the monthly fee, I suggest you buy Guild Wars.
