Ghost in the Shell, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Rahxephon, Gundam X (i vote this one has lousiet ending in all gundam series), Spirited Away, FF Spirit Within and etc.

In Kimi ga Nozomu Eien when Harauka got hit by that damn car! I wasn't expecting that at all! It was a even bigger shock to know she lived. In episode 3, through the beginning and middle, it all seemed like she was dead.

got to be when Nicholas Wolfwood dies in Trigun, I thought he'd have been one of the few who survived the final fight. But then he dies.

The whole chunk of plot twists in gankutsouu when the count starts to show his real intention to albert. realli got me dumbfounded but at the same time stare in awe of the greatness of tt series

Gank didn't really surprise me as much, I expected crazyness to happen. <3!

Plot Twists I wasn't expecting:

Cowboy Bebop (looking back...could it really end any other way?)
Trigun (no wolfwood no!)
Full Metal Alchemists (dammit they ALWAYS kill of my favorite character)
Wolf's Rain....it gets VERY X as of episode 27.

As a person mentioned, I'll follow and repeat: Perfect Blue is very trippy.

Other series:
- Excel Saga... the last volume (DVD) is more confusing than Eva.
- Ranma 1/2 and the first episode. Even after seeing the opening, there is a large surprise about the show and its strong point that rarely feels like the transformation is merely a gimmick.
