hmmm.. the kenshin movies , samurai x,
samurai x reflections is depressing though, and trust & betrayal has lots of gore. (if your into that)

i dont know if it counts as a movie, but its a two episode show from the creators of excel saga, puni puni poemy, is hella funny.

All of the above have really good stories, some a bit childish, some quite difficult to understand, but really good.

While this may not be anime, it is japanese, and many anime's are heavily influenced by them. Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, Sanjuro, and Hidden Fortress.
