For whom it may concern I did indeed use the search function before making this topic.

I have a habit of doing this in every forum I join but I am curios who else might be serving there country in one for or another.

As I said when I introduce myself I am in the USAF.

air force? that's nice i was JROTC for the Navy for a year until i saw what it really was. in fact i observed that psyches when i was trying to eat a hostess cupcake by eatting it inside out (with a slurpee straw)

-Higher Ranks:Power Obcessed Freaks (power hungry)
-Lower Ranks:Likes being pushed around(spineless)

anyways away from that, Rank?
i was a Cadet Corporal (spelling?)

please don´t call it "serving your country". there are so many better to serve your country than to run and to shoot.

Well, I´m 18 now and not joining the "Bundeswehr" (army) and I´m proud of my decision.

well, i'm a US citizen but my home country is Zimbabwe... no way would i ever want to serve in the Zim army, though... and even if i wanted to my skin is the wrong colour for that (i'm white as white gets... and white skin isn't very welcome in Zimbabwe any more)

i contribute to the US in my own ways... if there were a big enough war where i felt strongly on one side of it then i might join the military... but at the moment i think the US has plenty of soldiers for the battles they're fighting.

No they don't, they seem to be calling for more troops in Iraq =)

As for me, I was in the Cadet Corps for a while as a warrant officer 2nd class.

I'm currently talking about helping out the Canadian Forces (as an accountant/finance officer).

would getting strippers to the local army base count as helping out ones country J/KLaughing
I wanted to join the CAF, but after talking to a few CAF pilots, and seeing how pathetic Canada's army is, I decided against it. Now I try to overthrow the current government in a planned coup de ta Wink
lighten up guys, there are many ways to help out ones country, I volunteer my time at the hosiptal, that can be concidered serving ur country,
serving ur country, doesnt always mean joining the army.
Its not what ur country does for u, but what u do for ur country.

I've actually been wrestling with the thought of enlisting since late 2000. What's holding me back? Well... mainly parental pressure not to. It may sound lame to American ears, but Asian-Americans tend to defer to parental pressure.

But if I didn't have any family to worry about, I'd go for the USMC.

Ive always thought about enlisting. Even if you dont want to fight, theres plenty of ways to do service for them and its paid and theres other benifits. Not a bad deal if your right out of college or high school. Problem is I cant serve cause I got asthma and flat feet so they wouldnt even let me enlist. its dissapointing but at the same time serving prolly wouldnt be for me anyways.

I'm a bit confused what you’re asking me to say? My query was who was serving there country in one form or another. (forgot the "m" in the original post.) I didn't just mean by joining the military, like hellbent said there are other ways to serve besides joining the country's military.

As for the question of rank, E-4. Not all the lower ranks in the USAF are spineless, its's the middle ranks that seem to be spineless, the lower ranks for the most part act like high school student, they think there always right and don't care who says otherwise. Course I don't include myself in that I guess I'm pretty close to being spineless, I don't like getting in trouble so I do what I'm told.

lio, are you sure you're "spineless"? or are you just smarter than some others? cuz i know some lower ranked people get into trouble for some of the stupidest reasons... in the military, you do what you're told unless you know it's wrong.

i grew up in a military community, and i still live here (my dad retired in 1999 from the army, but now has a civilian job with the army). i was gonna join the US Navy, i even talked to the recruiter and got a list of jobs i was qualified for... but i can't swim, and i'm too afraid to leave my family and the familiarity of my home Embarassed. and my dad is paying for 2 years of college for me (which i'm almost done with, YAY). by the way, i was even too afraid to go to the states, to a college campus. i take classes with the university of maryland, one of the schools that are over here for the military members and their families to get a college education.
