Chrono Trigger was a great RPG, I feel sorry for those that only get to play the Final Fantasy Chronicles version on PS though. Even though it has cinemas and a few extras, I would trade that away anyday, because I have played the SNES version and like most NES/SNES RPGS converted to PS, the loading time between battles was long. I'm sure everyone's noticed that evertime you run into an enemy in Chrono Trigger on the PS it seems like the battles freeze for like 3 seconds or more. It may not sound like a lot, but trust me, when you are playing and it is EVER SINGLE BATTLE, you will see it sucks. It ran much smoother on SNES cartridge.
As for chrono cross. I liked the battle system. The storyline, well.. it wasn't till like the middle of the game that you could tell why the games had anything to do with each other, and even then it wasn't crucial to the storyline. It was more or less the programmers way of saying that Chrono Cross actually had something to do with Chrono Trigger. The character development sucks also. It is almost as bad as FF1. A unique thing they did add was the fact that you can choose many different ways to arrive at the same ending. What I mean by that isn't there isn't that there is a ton of endings. (There is only 2). What I mean is that you can choose how to approach different situations which will determine the characters in your party.
Just a little "Did you know fact": Akira Toriyama (Same person who created DB and DBZ {NOT GT!!}). created Chrono Trigger, it was someone else who created Chrono Cross. I highly suspect Chrono Cross was just a way of using Chrono Trigger's legacy as a way of making money. |

Chrono Cross can be considered one of the best RPG made by SquareSoft. Altough it's only PSone game but it has good features like good cg, tons of endings, characters, storyline and the best is able to choose your own battle. What interest me the most is the timeline.. which connects to Chrono Trigger. I even bought the soundtrack of Chrono Cross which i value very much. _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine. |

He was responsible for the character designs (if you look at the art style, it's obvious ). But I don't remember reading that he was responsible for anything beyond that.
And Chrono Trigger's credits on GameFAQs.com don't suggest that he was responsible for anything else. |

I give props to Chrono Cross for having the main character have one of the coolest weapons in an RPG. -The Swallow.-
The battle system was not bad at all, the story line wasn't bad either. Even though there were a lot of characters, and very little character development, it didn't stop this game from being great at all IMO.
Having over 30+ characters allows you to pick ones you like, stick with 'em, and develop them. If you ever find yourself getting bored with any of your main party, just switch 'em around. I know I get bored using the same chars over and over again in RPGs, especially ones I don't like too much.
Anyone else found it funny that the Masamune in this game talked? I thought that was pretty cool. They were also the same Masa and Mune from Chrono Trigger. Their dialogue really made me laugh. _________________ [IMG:432:143:0a18b764ae]http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c315/Reiswinds/betternastysigD.gif[/img:0a18b764ae] |

Wow, that's the last thing I thought I'd hear about Chrono Cross. I was a huge fan of this game and pretty much did everything you possibly can in this game, played throught it about 5 times. This was a very easy game, I was disappointed with the level of difficulty. I really wished it offered little more challenge, especially when you do new game +.
Oh btw, this game was the reason I bought a PSX. I actually bought this game the day it came out, even before I bought myself a PSX system... _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |

Yeah, Chrono Cross was one of the more intense, exciting rpgs up to date. Unfortunately, the sequel, Chrono Break, was scrapped. Yep, there were plans to make Chrono Break, the sequel of Chrono Cross... _________________ [IMG:450:120:d818688081]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y102/outlaw-2/renacopy.jpg[/img:d818688081] |

| This game is the hardest game i ever played that square made. I bought it when it first came out. The music was awsome. I got stuck in this game so many times, spending hours figuring what to do. I got stuck right in the begining becasue i didn't know that you can travel back in forth from the beach, it made me feel so clueless. I don't know how I got through the game, but I made it through with a lot of luck and especially defeating the last master by getting all the colors inorder. I beat the game once and never played it again. |
