original manga idea?

Hey all, i know all of you have had fanfics ideas and everything, but have you guys ever had an original manga idea? When I'm reading something, i like to think of a story that sorta fits into that genre. So when i read alot of science fiction, i wrote a couple chapters of a science fiction novel. WHen i was reading mysteries, i outlined a draft for a mystery story i had. When I was watching just anime i wrote a couple scripts (for ranma) but i made up a character to fit in that world
Now that i read alot of manga, i either make up characters to fit into whatever i'm reading at the time, or i make up something original (well original as far as i know).

One of those original ideas i had (that i can still remember since i hardly ever write them down, and i probably should) was when i was having a romance/drama mood and reading alot of those kinds of things. It was basically a romance/action (cuz i'm a guy, there has to be some kind of action) story, and it, of course, had to do with a love triangle. Two guys and one girl tho, i like those kind of love triangles better. Since i don't know japanese and the meaning of names i never gave them names, so bare with me.

Okay, so i had a couple different ideas for these three, but the one i think the one that's the least complicated went something like this:
You have normal girl who goes to highschool (as just about every manga with a heroine starts out) who is always being followed after by her dorky geeky clumsy childhood friend with the glasses and bad hair, whole bit. She has a crush on her cool, suave homeroom teacher. Whenever she gets into any random trouble, one of them would show up, teacher in a cool way, or the friend would trip over his feet and fall into the situation, somehow disrupting it all and helping her escape.
Okay here's the twist... One day it appears that someone actually makes a serious attempt to kill/kidnap her, and geeky friend comes to the rescue, in a spectacular fashion. As it turns out she's actually someone of great importance which she wasn't aware before (an heir to a high position, mafia boss' kid, whatever) and her friend and teacher were actually her bodyguards watching out for her. Seeing how the girls' families enemies have now discovered her and are taking the initiative to get at her, the family who kept her identity in secret (even from her) now feel they have to make a more public showing (at least to the enemies) that they're not to be messed around with. So as it turns out, the friend was only pretending to be clumsy and geeky as to fool anyone else watching, comes to school the next day looking all cool and suave, and both him and the teacher guy both watch out for the girl in various fashions and situation. Around here the girl develops feelings for both, other people get involved, etc. etc, actions, fights, the whole bit.

Well i figure this will never come to light, as i cannot draw worth crap and i doubt this is something you can sell to a manga company in japan, but i'd thought i'd share it with you guys. You guys ever had any original ideas? feel free to share!

hey, you're idea's really good!!! I really like the concept. Me too I have an idea about a manga but that's quite complicated! here's my idea:
We begin where the world was born, on Earth. There were only 2 clans (I don't know what name I could give it to them, but I thought about a Sun clan and a Moon clan... ....) The two clan lived in harmony thanks to an object (I don't know which object yet, maybe a special stone) but one day, a bad goddess (or someone with super power) came out from nowhere and stole it. Since then, the two clans are in war. The king of the Sun Clan and the queen of the Moon clan were wise enough to to not fight each other, but they wanted to badly though. They wanted to have back the stone, but they couldn't touch them without being killed. The goddess told them they'll have to get a child with the mixed blood to touch it. It's not as if they didn't try, but they could not even bear the view of each other, so thanks to a good goddess, they were sealed into something (I don't know what) so at each 500 hundreds years, they came out to marry a normal person. (The goddess stopped the time of the war so the Earth could continue to live as if the stone never has been stolen. Though it'll not last very long) The child of the queen and the child of the king then would have to have a child together too so they could have the mixed blood. (in short, the king and the queen wanted to give the job to their grandchildren...) but each time, it failed. Until they came into our era, in 2005, their last chance.
So there's a new boy at school, every girl drool for him but a girl. (guess who's child it is?) She doesn't know why, but she felt like she really hates him. The truth is finally revealed to them and, well, they didn't like it of course. But the hatred for each other was less important than the hatred between the queen and the king, so maybe they would have chances. And so it continues that way, their journey began and they'll have to learn to at least like eachother...
I don't know if you like the concept. It'll certainly get better as the days and and the weeks and the months and the years pass on... *sigh* Please tell me what you think about it! I already draw a few sketches of my characters and my friends tell me they really look sexy (lol... okay) so if you wanna some help for some drawing, you can ask me ^^ I'll try my best! Wink

here's the site where I draw the "king" and the "queen". they'll possibly look like this. The little scratch on the guy's cheek isn't made volunteerly though... I took my black pencil to draw and I put it straight on the guy's cheek by accident, so I put so red in it so it looks like a scratch.... same for the neck... I'm so sad about it. In spite of it I'm quite proud of my drawing ^^

Actually, you two might ask about joining, though I somehow doubt they need that many authors.

So that's what the private manga forum is. I thought it was just something for administrators... well considering it's private and locked, it's kinda hard to figure out what it's for. That's interesting, i wonder what's being worked on right now?

Good luck on your project! My friend and I tried to make a manga once when we saw an add for getting manga publishing ... we figured "Hey this shoudn't be hard!" WRONG. We got the art down but the script was terrible! In the end we thought it sucked to much to be submitted.

yea it did suck a lot. i saw it, it was HORRIBLE. my friends were underestimating the work that it takes to put together a manga.
