Okay, let's say that the people that borught some of our favorite anime and manga series here, and they let some of the best writers in American comics to write a one shot special story or mini series. Here some ideas:

Grant Morrison- Full Metal Alchemist, Read Or Die, Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball Z, Elfen Lied, Chrno Crusade, Tenjo Tenge, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto

Mark Waid- Chrno Crusade, Full Metal Alchemist, Tenchi, Yu-Gi-Oh

Mark Millar- Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ultimate Muscle, Naruto

Greg Rucka- Read Or Die, Case Closed, City Hunter

Brian Bendis- Read Or Die

Judd Winick- Yu Yu Hakusho, Case Closed, City Hunter, Read Or Die, Naruto

Andy Diggle- Gundam, Gall Force

Warren Ellis- Yu Yu Hakusho, Full Metal Alchemist, Tenchi, Elfen Lied

Joe Kelly- Full Metal Alchemist, Chrno Crusade, Naruto

Brad Meltzer- Case Closed

Garth Ennis- Elfen Lied, Tenjo Tenge, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ultimate Muscle

As you can see, you don't have to limit to just one series; make as many as you want.

man you really know your authors. I hardly know any for comic books.. see the thing is about comics and manga, are that mangas and anime typically have an end (yes even dragon ball ended.. finally). Comics however, seeminly go on forever. Heck Superman has been going on for over 50 years. The thing is American comics wont stop producing comics if they feel they can squeeze a couple more bucks out of it. Even if the writer quits, they'll just hire another writer to work on it. That's why the beauty that is manga and anime will never be fully developed here because they'll carry something into oblivion, and when it stops producing money, they'll just stop the show without a definite ending (xmen cartoon show) and that's that.

American writiers can't resist the urge to serialize stories into never-ending, mind-numbing tales.... I say anything over 56 episodes isn't worth following to the end.

Several Manga from Tokyopop actually are from American artist and storywriters. Though Tokyopop has been blending manga and comics into an new style.

Sort of like Conga or Manics

The issue is that ameri-manga is only really done right in a few times.
Megatokyo was one but that's more of a web comic that crossed into the realm of print.

The fact is there are very few american writers who won't beat an idea to death just to squeeze some juice from it.

Expecially because American authors usually have no idea the vein the story was created in.

Take a look at Stan Lee presents the DC universe. I mean that's stan THE MAN lee, who I thought who could do no wrong. If you see that you'll understand sometimes it's just best to not meddle with other peoples ideas.

I don't think the American writers should be given a blank ticket to do whatever they pleased but if they were supervised. They shouldn't go just mixing 2 diffrent types of literature. It's like cross breeding a horse and a dolfin. What ever comes out nobody wants and is really ugly.

well its kinda implausable... its the work of the japaneese and therefore its got their culture kinda wrapped up in it whether they mean to or not. I say leave it to the ones who have been doing it like that and american writers stick to simpsons and family guy.

Given how complicated the Yugioh storyline is in the anime, I'd actually be afraid of seeing what Grant Morrison would do with YugiOh. I imagine he'd make things even more complicated.
