Rurouni Kenshin has a lot of OAVs, and movies. Which is what, and what order have do you watch them in?

I know that there's the 94 plus missing episode series. That's Rurouni Kenshin.

I also know that there's Requiem for Patriots, Samurai X: A Bunch of Names, and a third movie. What's up?

Is it my imagination or does Requiem for Patriots occur within the series, so you can actually watch that movie and then see the exact same thing but spread over three episodes?

Also, why does Kenshin's origin have so many fricken names? There's Trust and Betrayal, and I think a third. What is up with that?

I think I've seen Samurai X. It's where Kenshin is a kid, is saved but everybody else dies and he is taken into the tutlage of the swordsmaster guy. Kenshin thinks he's ready, and his master ejects him from his teachings. He goes to a city, duels a bunch of people. He's attacked by a guy who uses a chain and claw, I think and kills him meeting a woman. They eventually escape, and go farming. Kenshin and her sleep together, and you learn that Kenshin killed her previous husband. She dies, and Kenshin earns his X mark. Now, is that all of it or did I miss stuff from that movie?

Any help would be apperciated, 'cause I'm confuddled.

Here's what I think:

Ruroni Kenshin series = Samurai X

There are two OVAs dan one movie.

I think Requiem for Patriots is the movie. I've never seen it and never really care.

The first OVA (consists of 2 volume, Trust and Betrayal) tells the story of Kenshin during his day as the Batosai and how he get the scars.

The second OVA took place years after the series is about Kenshin's death. There was a flashback scene about the story where Kaoru was kidnapped by Kenshin's former brother in law which was in the manga but never made it into the series.

I'm now confused... I want to know what people know, because I've been confused. Rurouni Kenshin is not Samurai X, I know that for a fact but you say otherwise...

Who knows the facts?

Charactes in OVA are a bit weird, i prefer the series.

However, I really dislike the one with TRUE HITEN MITSURUGI which causes Kenshin to be blind. That's stupid, i think.

I thought the English version of Rurouni Kenshin is Samurai X? So how come it's not the same? Rolling Eyes

Oh, I thought the title was universal. I am referring to the english versions of the series. The 94(95) episode series is Rurouni Kenshin. There are then a bunch of films/OVAs. Can someone straighten this out?

That's not what i see on tv. The english version is called Samurai X but the original Japanese is named Rurouni Kenshin.

The OVAs like Reminiscene was also called SX in english version but RK in japanese. Rolling Eyes

What he said. The movie was part of the TV series. It was like a really long episode. Where Kenshin and crew go on a train ride.

Samuria X is just the three OVAs and the movie that is out and tells the story of kenshins childhood and also ends the series. The last OVA is not made by the same person, i think, so they might make a different ending, but for now thats it. Also, its best to watch the firsit two OVAs after you watch the first two story arches, then the movie, then the last story arche, then the last OVA if you want my oppinion ( sorry for any misspelled words)

No english speaking human knows what "rurouni kenshin" means. But if someone were to say Samurai X, then theyd think "Oh, Samurai porn!". That was the whole idea for Samurai X. Besides, the comic is the best. The rest just suck(btw, the OVA are in the comic as well, so its no point really to read the comic and then watch the OVA).

The manga is short, not all scenes in the OVA are included. So it's better that we read the manga and watch the OVA. By the way, when i first heard of Samurai X, it never occur to me that it was a hentai. I just thought the samurai has no name, so people call him X. After i read the manga, i found out it was because of his cross shaped scar on his left cheek.

Yeah, maybe it's because Kenshin looks like a girl and in the anime, his Seiyuu (voice actor) is a girl. I found some which Kenshin had to pretend to be Saito's wife due to some mission and this surely a yaoi.
