| I guess I am an otaku in the making. Anime has always kind of been in my life. Although I manage to find time for other tings like work, sports, and food. I always find that all my entertainment ventures revolve around anime (books, games, dvd, figures, ect...) So anytime I want to enjoy meyself that's what I am doing. Now as soon as it becomes what I do for a living as well as what I do in my off time then I believe it's gone to far. |

I'd describe myself as sort of verging on a proper otaku -.-; probably cos' I've known it my whole life, but then I remember there's more to life than anime ^^;
But overall semi-otakuish (I'd never cosplay, or write essays about the meaning behind a certain anime or spend 24/7 thinking about it...etc.) _________________ [img:::d1df0bad59]http://h1.ripway.com/jenny27/SCcolourbar.png[/img:d1df0bad59] |

As "otaku" as I am, I'm nothing compared to the people at my school.
With a population that's 52% Asian, with about 25% (about 13% of the total) of them being immigrants, I'm really, really nothing.
Some of them cosplay every day. O_O _________________ Bay Area DDR League |

Closet otaku .... I think.
Hmmm. I've once had 2 straight days of anime and manga when I was sick and had to stay home. My head was sooo fucked up from that and the meds, I could hear imaginary high-pitched voices talking to me in Japanese, and I don't even speak the language.
Between that and the fever, I thought I did some permanent damage. I'm glad I'm past that.
Anyways.... I only bought a couple of DVD OVAs, no series. I've never purchased manga, toys, figurines, OSTs, music CDs, wall scrolls, posters, and magazines. I don't cosplay. I've gone to ONE anime convention in Toronto, but I only walked away with nothing but the memories of swealtering body odour and the images of fat girls in tight cosplay outfits. |

High-pitched Japanese in your head, and you don't know that language... O_o
Must've been freaky.
I went down to Anime-Expo '04 and '05 and came back with memories of Naruto cosplayers climbing trees and falling off and a disturbing memory of the infamous Man-Faye. =/ _________________ Bay Area DDR League |

| I am called Otaku by my friends -__- but I'm not that much of an Otaku to go to the level of rabid fangirls. |

| I rated myself as a semi-otaku (I might be considered more than that though). I'll watch a series subbed (not dubbed), sometimes I'll download a song from a series, I'll stay up late nights watching anime, I'm a member of an anime club, but I'm not so deep into it that I'll debate seriously about couples, theorize about what will happen next in the manga, recall offhand significant differences between the manga and anime versions of any series, etc. |

I am what you can call the "poor" otaku. After paying the registration fees at the convention, I can't buy anything. XD I love anime and have a detailed knowledge, but I only have a few dvds _________________ [img:829:310:345ac5ccec]http://www.lucid-tv.com/073.jpg[/img:345ac5ccec] |

Actually I would definately go to a convention if it was about something specific and not vague ones about anime in general.
One such convention I'd kill to go to is anual Wonderfestival. It's a haven for model/figure hobbists and collectors. They sell and display all kinds of latest miniature models, anime figures there. _________________ [IMG:258:200]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v435/ypark/sigs/3fsn.png[/img] |
