Aaah I firsted got started after I purchased my first manga book : ) It just looked so good that I had to try and copy it! After many attempts at freehanding I got the hang of it, however my finished product looked nothing like the original! This was how I adopted my style... It seems that when I tried to copy a character, I would draw it out in my "style" Still I think I suck at "drawing" I really only copy things.. and it so happens to look different... For example, see that cat as my avatar, I drew it on paint but I copied it from the net. I havent reached the point were I can draw something with out looking at the orignal : /
P.S: got any tips for me? ( NO! Not practice... im WAAAAY to lazy for that... ) |

I learned when i first pic up the manga chobits... I was like... damn I wish i could draw like that... and with lots of practice and tips from how to books... I've come a while to see how my style has changed... I've seen pictures I've drawn from 3 years ago... (meaning i was 13) and I went "holy crap!"
Well I still have a long way to go to develop my style... but its seems to be stabilizing...
Tips for you... Don't think of it as practice... when you feel like drawing... Draw... until you don't feel like it... and get good night sleep...
Look at already drawn ones... break it down into shapes and draw it... <that is a very important thing to know... Breaking things into shapes (everything becomes much easier)
Learn abit about perspective... go outside and draw the enviroment... <great to learn for backgrounds...
Find a way thats comfortable... With music... without... Mechanical pencil... regular pencil... < I prefer mechanical myself...
Practice on those... and sense you don't really like the word practice... build upon your drawing skills... in your spare time, bored, in class doodling (just make sure the teacher doesn't get pissed), or when you get hit with inspiration... (note somethings inspiration actually hurts... ><... )
Enjoy these tips...
Ps
For colouring and shading... take your time. |

I started drawing a long time ago when Sega Genesis was still popular. I used to draw ppl from Street fighter 2 all the time. My style...its kinda hard to describe. I guess its kinda like Tetsuya Nomura (final fantasy character designer) which would make sense cause some of my inspiration came from the FF characters. Its quite different, though.
The more u draw the more creative u'll get. the more creative u get the more u want to draw. If its what u really like then practicing should be enjoyable. I used to draw two or three things a day and the results come quicker than most skills...i think.. anyway just keep drawing, and u'll see a huge improvement over ur old stuff |

how i started? pokemon. first i drew a whole buncha pokemon, then i got interested in people. i had oodles of fun, cuz everyday, i'd be like "ZOMG!!, now i can draw pidgeotto!!!!! PUAHAHAHAHAA..."
style? everyone has their own style. what do u m ean byh style. how do u describe style. wth am i talking about
how to get better? well, keep drawing is one thing
i learned on an article that the best way to improve ur skills is to draw pre-made characters in your OWN poses. i guess ur doing that, so ull prolly get better if that article was true. (i don't ussually do that though, maybe i should try)
i gues another thing u have to do is to not be stubborn with ideas/ themes /styles or wutever. i mean like, u should always try new things, like trying to draw ppls or wutever from different perspectives, or drawing a certain hairstyle that u don't normally draw.
im not sure if that made sense, but for instance, if u never drew a girl with long wavy hair hanging upside down from a tree before, then u should try it. or if u never drew ur facce a certain way u've seen been drawn by other ppls before, then u should do that too.
ahhh!! long post!! omg!! i hate it wen i do that!! _________________ GG |

I dont think I have a style, really. Sometimes it's really apparent and stands out but other's dont and I think mine may be one of them. I try to do things that are different but for the most part my drawings lack creativy. (ahh I need more inspiration! XD)
I started drawing when I was in early highschool though. My friend had drawn something amazing (though later I realized she had just copied it from a anime magazine) and I wanted to be able to create something like that too. So I picked up my pencil and started drawing. First time inspirations/styles where from Ranma1/2, I"S, Marmalade boy, Karekano and two online comics on the net. Of course later on I found more artists but these where the ones that seemed to influence me the most at that time when I started. I dont know if you can see any of the infulences in my current works though...?
As for tips - there really isn't any other way. Drawing skill won't magically appear unless any effort is put in to it. As is with anything you want to learn to do better. ^^;; |

I started drawing anime after I watched Ah! My Goddess OVAs and the Movie. The movie inspired me to draw Belldandy. That's how I started. I'm used to drawing characters with complicated hair designs. Like Belldandys.
And I need to paint them with watercolor or Cel Vinyl (Harder to use). _________________ [img:500:140:9b272a1241]http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y78/xpeed/BigSig.jpg[/img:9b272a1241]

I started after seeing this anime about a vampire who had a demon living in the palm of his hand. He was saving some sorta chick from an alpha vampire's marriage or somethings.... it all begins to blur from there but yeah, I started getting obsessed with anime style drawing from there.
I'm embarassed to admit but... I started with Pokemon for my serious drawin (I think I lost my copied and coloured pikachus, squirtles and bulbasaurs lol).
I'm aspiring to be as good as the chrono crusade manga artist |

| I started before I read any mangas (in Grade 6). I saw my artistic friend drawing and I started to imitate her. Oh my gosh, when I looked back at my early drawing, I want to cry. They were so horrible and deformed but I think I got a hang of it now. I bounce from styles to styles, like the artwork of Masashi Kishimoto (Naruto), Mizuto Aqua (Milk Crown series, etc.) and the mangaka who made Ashiteruze Baby. |

Ah! By the way, Micro, I'm sorry to tell you but...Practice! It should be fun! If you had the mind for it then you wouldn't mind drawing 24/7 like me! Picture the image in our head. Try putting it on paper, but I won't guarantee that you can.
A very interesting way I check my artwork is to flip the paper over and hold it up to the light. I discovered this trick a year ago . If the artwork looks totally disfigured, then you'll have to fix whatever it is that looks bad. I hope it works for you, or anyone else! |

| LOL love hina was also my first attempt at drawing. LOL i had my friend who crazy good at drawing blow up one of the pictures and from there i started to learn the style little by little. Basically i learned eyes so i have some paper of nothing but eyes and then i slowly moved on to face hair body, etc. At first i copied his works to learn but slowly i created my own style which is evolving again. Its slowly blending in ichigo chugworth and love hina styles. |
