How did you get started drawing anime? Got a style?

HAHA everyone starts off differently haha i find it funny but i also seem to make all the gurls i draw look sad or thought ful i can;t really do happy dunno why LOL

I actually had been drawing stuff like monsters and small things like that when I was a kid, but got interested in anime after I checked out dbz.

At the tyme, DBZ was the "in" thing Very Happy

, and if you drew it you were coo, so I just decided to draw, and eventually I jes copied enough from pictures that I they were kinda implanted in my mind. And now i can draw freestyle, but i set my own trend (and I dislike yu gi oh and dbz, they may be good animes, but too many american people compare it to mine, which now look nothing lyke those Evil or Very Mad

ingnorant peepz).

For those who want to get better, just keep drawing, and like the dude said before, draw and draw til you cant draw anymore. And try to draw different stuff, once you get used to drawing something, be innovative Also, I draw in class (if the teacher gets pissed I give them the middle finger and meh...). I've noticed that art class never really helped me, only got me interested in drawing pen. Rolling Eyes

I'm just hoping I can hone my skills/hobby to become a great manga/anime artist Laughing

PS Trust me, some will get artist's block, but jes keep your coo and calmly draw, or try to find some new ideas (and try to observe your surroundings, that helps build up the art styles)

Also, dont call it pratice, just draw a lot have fun

We should all post past drawings of ours to share!
Some of the older drawings of mine I can't believe at the time I thought there were no flaws etc. It's really interesting to see how much people can improve over the years if they just keep it up.

HEHE i know what you mean i remember some drawings from like not even a year ago that i thought couldn;t be improved but now that i look back i spot so many flaws. Tho there are those occasional pics that you really can;t change to much. But yeah i planning on drawing a bg just for myself and hope i can finish before summer photoshoping and all but yeah i might post it during the phases to get some help so i hope all u out there will help thnx

I've been drawing anime since grade 3 after being inspired from the t.v shows sailor moon and dragonball, i have been doing random fandom pictures, and a hella lot of originals, currently in grade 10 undergoing a love story manga, my style changes depending on my mood, although i draw very,very fast it doesnt really effect my artwork to much, if i take my time than i can make it look really good, but im not very patieant so i doubt that'll happen much.

I mostly drew cars since I was five. Didn't start to draw anime until the 7th grade when I started to draw dragonball from trading cards. Oh yeah, of course I watched Dragonball when I was 5, but I never had the interest in drawing anime back then.
