Hrmm, this is a toughy, I know I could rattle off my ten least favorite anime series/movies like nothing, but my favorites are harder to categorize because I like different series for different reasons and it depends on my mood really. So anyway, right now, the mood I'm in makes these my top ten.
-------------------------------------------
1. Please Save my Earth - I have always loved this series, both in manga and in anime form. Most people don't like it because it leaves you with the feeling that nothing is resolved, but as a whole, I found this to be a deeply emotional and insightful anime.
2. Saishuuheiki Kanojo - How can anyone not love this series. Intense, insightful and transcendental. Just Wow. Simply Wow.
3. Kimagure Orange Road (KOR) - I love love love this series. Yes, it's old and hokey, but I adore it, even when everyone is doing embarassing things.
4. Escaflone - This was one of the first series I sat down and watched straight through. Once I started watching I simply couldn't stop.
5. Key the Metal Idol - I loved this series. I thought that it was incredibly well done, not just for the haunting music, but just overall. THe story, the animation, everything.
6. Noir/Gunslinger Girls - For me, these two series are a tie. They are both wonderful and very similar in my mind. I can't really put one above the other, so, they are definately tid in my mind. Girl with guns who kill people, its just impossible to go wrong with that theme.
7. Whispers of the Heart - This is a little known ghibli film and I love it. This is where the idea of Neko no Ongaeshi (Ghibli Studios latest film) was planted and grew from. I don't really know why I like this one so much, but I do, perhaps because it seems the most real. (I also love Totoro and Kiki's Delivery Service)
8. Full Moon wo Sagashite - I just finished watching this one and while I thought it would be silly and childish, it turned out to be great. I had so much fun watching this series. I felt all warm and fuzzy inside, like a inside-out kitten.
9. Lain - This is another series a lot of people don't like because it leaves them going "Huh?" I love this series, if you understand whats going on and you aren't afraid to think whilst watching anime, this is a great one.
10. The Irresponsible Captain Tylor - I love this anime. Its lighthearted and fun. So far as the comedy anime go, this is probably one of my favorites.
-----------------------------
There are things I probably should have put on the list because I really do like them, but perhaps I just wasn't in the mood today. I love Hime-chan no Ribono, Grave of the Fireflies (really anything that comes out of Ghibli Studio I love and adore), Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Cowboy Bebop (I love Ed, she has not bones I swear), Armitage, Lupin III, Video Girl Ai, Heck, the list goes on and on.
I think the ten I chose, probably best represent my tastes though. They are series I can watch again and again. (Well, I have to psyche myself up for Saishukeiki, but jinkies, who wouldnt have to?)

Nice Pic on Gundam seed being numba #1!! _________________ Top Animes Ever Seen....
1. Gundam Seed
2. Naruto
3. Yukikaze
4. Hellsing
5. Berserk
6. Gundam Wing
7. Full Metal Panic 2nd season
8. Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien
List will grow when I remeber the other animes I've seen
1: Full metal alchemist: Finally a series that has a pretty much perfect balance between comedy, action and drama, at least for my taste. The suspense and mood is set immidiatly in the first two minutes, and it stays great. The story is very good, the action, though not plentifull, looks nice and the jokes are great. I reccomend this to everyone.
2: Patlabor movie 2: Though the story is a bit vague, the great atmosphere makes up for it.
3: Ayashi no Ceres: Very good story and suspense, although a bit romance-heavy. But it doesn't bother me.
4: Naruto: As addictive as crack. Who cares that it's a DBZ derivate with dragged on battles, it's so cool to watch. And it has the second best OST I 've heard. It would be nice if the animation quality didn't vary so much between crap and awsome. And while they're at it, let's fix it at awsome ofcourse
5: Slayers try: The Slayers series are great, and try is my favourite, because of the story and the bad guy. You can feel sorry for him, but he's still the bad guy. That's the way I like em.
6: Escaflowne: Great mecha serie, much better than Evangelion IMHO. Too bad about the rushed ending.
7: Photon: I never would've thought I'd enjoy an silly comedy with so much Ecchi-ness. But I did. It's just so hillarious. Check this out, escpecially if you normally hate ecchi/harem series. This is great parody.
8: Great teacher Onizuka: The cat-like teacher; he has many many lives and always lands on his feet, no matter what he does. And always in a funny manner.
9: Inu Yasha: One of my earlier anime's. A little much filler, but definatly fun to watch. And Sesshoumaru is cooooool.
10: Noir: A bit weird, but still cool. Also features my favourite OST.
Series that fell of the list, but which I still feel compelled to mention:
Angelic Layer: Let the bakas who made digimon and beyblade see this. Show them it is possible to capitalise on the succes of pokemon without copying it almost litteraly or using something incredibly lame for fighting. I love this show for it's great action animation, it's cuteness, and last but not least Icchan-san.
Ranma: Technically not the first anime I ever saw (they broadcasted Teknoman on Dutch TV once, saw a few eps, it looked fun, but I never got around to watching much of it) but it's the one that got me into anime. Especially the first few seasons are mad funny. The manga is better though.

I apologize for raising the dead, found this thread while looking for information on Transformers Manga (I think there were one or two)
Since It’s here though my list is the following:
1) Ranma 1/2, I really love Ranma’s misfortunes and it’s really fun to write fanfics with Rumiko Takahashi’s characters.
2) Lum (I’m not going to try and spell the proper name for the series), My first Anime, I use to watch it with my father when he rent it from Blockbuster.
3) Marmalade Boy, probably the first Anime I ever saw in it’s entirety it will always remain a favorite
4) Sailor Moon, it was the first FanSubb I ever watched, I truly disliked how it was translated in the US.
5) Magic Knights Rayearth, another that I saw fansubbed long before it was licensed. I guess I really like magical girl stories.
6) The Irresponsible Captain Tylor, just over all hilarious. Well worth watching.
7) Trigun, a great story. I was glad Vash stuck to him morals till the end.
8 ) Record of the Loddoss War (I hope I spelled the right), another I watched with my father.
