Top ten is tough. How 'bout top eleven? I own over $1500 worth of anime, and would love to have more--not having a job sucks. So you can imagine how hard this decision is =3

In no particular order:

Elfen Lied
FLCL
Evangelion
Infinite Ryvius
Cowboy Bebop
Abenobashi
Kare Kano (wish there was a second season ;_;)
Gantz
Samurai Champloo
Lain
Love Hina

Texhnolyze is also a great anime once you get into it, but I've yet to see the whole thing, so I can't put it in the list.
Blue Sub Six has a great story, and as far as I know, the first anime to use CG, which should get it respect.
Bastard! is funny as hell at times, so it deserves to be mentioned.
And last to be added would have to be Now and Then, Here and There. Great story, very evocative. I just hate Shu.
