I've read the manga, watched the first movie, and I thought they were very good, and had hoped that someone had started a thread here, but no one had sadly enough, I just felt that this romance/comedy deserved a little more attention.
I know (and many of you know too), that this manga is old, but the story is very interesting, and if you have watched the movie you'll realise that there are certain things you see in the movie that doesn't match the manga, and on some level this is very saddening, well, not that they don't match, but the ending in the movie compared to how it was ended in the manga.
We all probably have read a romance where the parting of a one sided love is very difficult, but seeing how this is projected to the movie makes it a lot better, although it is painful to behold how their relation ends...
How she waits for him to return under the heavy rain, and how hard it is for him to stay where he is and not move an inch...
KOR may be old but i LOVED all of it Personally, the story for both the manga and the anime were great in its own kind of way. Did you watch the OAVs and Pilot? Its really good and gives you a sense on how it changed over time. Also, there are many fanfics on the net and some of them are very decent also read the manga for the 2nd and 3rd phase on post KOR because it explains a lot about each character. You can find these mangas off the net Just google it :p

I my opinion K.O.R is one of the best old school animes that I've seen, not to mention that it was the first anime I ever watched. As for the manga and anime, well there is a significance amount of things that were done different from the manga to the anime, but the original story itself was not ruined, instead it brought a slightly different sequence of events at the end of the anime that put it a stand still position to later on be conclude it by K.O.R first movie. Although, I don't really like the ending that was given by the movie, and that's probably why the second K.O.R movie was made, which in fact is everything that the first movie should it have been, while ending with the new found maturity of the characters, steping out of the bounds of teen hood to adults. Now that would it been an ending.
P.S. I thought that K.O.R had already a trend of its own, but I guess I was wrong because otherwise I would it start it my self a long time ago. So thanks for bring out Saithan.
It's definitely a great movie, and a very good story. But from what you have told me I gather that the anime is different than the manga, because in the manga they break up, whilst in the movie they are still together, and the break up scene is different, and it's definitely a heartbreaking ending of a relationship that has stood for 3 years...
I doubt there are many who has it in them to end things that way, but the saddest part was probably that he was forced to suppres his own nature in order to make her forget him.
I haven't seen the second movie, but if you guys know it's name I'd love to hear it (the title I mean).

I guess the way I describe it is some what mess up. Sorry about that, but that's because I saw K.O.R when I was seven years old, and I haven't seen it since then... so I guess I need to see it one more time to give detailed information about the series. The only problem is that I can't find K.O.R in english version.
As for the second movie, the title is K.O.R: Summer Begins!
Here is a link to the Anime Source review about this movie, hope you find it helpful:
