| I didn't read the manga but i thought the anime was hilarious. The plot's fresh because you don't see guys turning into animals in other animes ^^ however, my friend said there are more characters in the manga though.[ |

Both are fun to watch and read...
But the anime is only until the 7th Vol of the manga...
Those who can't have enough of the anime and read the manga...
Also the manga is much better -in my opinion- focuses more on each character...and their developement...etc |

I'd say it's best to experience both anime and manga on this. The Anime does a nice job of expanding some material (I loved the "End of Year cleaning", Ep 18 of "Prince Yuki fangirl leaders vs the Hanajima house", Kyo's Heavy Protection against Leek porridge in Ep 19 and the extra insanity of Ayame's shop of Ep 20). The ending to the anime however was a bit of a rush job as they had little time left to give some kind of resolution. Manga goes way further and from Vol 7 onwards you get material that wasn't covered in the Anime.
Heck, it's perfectly feasible to watch just up to Ep 20 of the anime and then switch to Vol 6 of the Manga - you won't be missing out on anything other than a few minor facts (e.g. Momiji is half-German, Mio is actually Minami's Kouhai and the "Why is Wave/Vibe girl the only one who isn't dying of exhaustion?!?" line that I like after the badminton game). Vol 7 is the turning point where the Manga gives more material than the Anime but Ep 24~26 covers a major arc in Vol 6, with some small changes to make it more suitable as "a final climax of the series".
Expect some serious drama and advice on life mixed in with the humour. This manga had a landslide victory in a "What shall we translate next?" poll that Tokyopop put up years ago. It's a good read even if you're not of the typical target Shoujo audience ^^ |

| I like how Fruits Basket only has 4 DVDs, each with an average of 6.5 episodes. Why do some series try to stretch things out so much with 7 DVDs for the same 26 episodes? |

my best guess would that they want to earn more money from the people who really want to watch and read the series _________________ What dosn't make you stronger kills you

Heh I just realized that this series was showing evry afternoon in the Philippines when I was visiting there last December.. First time I saw it there(was on ep 14) made me think, eh what the!?? they look all gay and shit (the way they interact with the other guys) and ending up changing the channel...
Welp now I'm watching it and liking the story very much... Man Akito is so ...can't describe it ... _________________
