Ever since someone told me that the manga has more content than the anime, I've been waiting for each english translation to hit the shelves, but it's taking sooo long. argh.

This manga is such a terrific one. I hope all of them get to be free of their curse.

The manga was really great but i had hoped that there would be like a continuation for the anime as well. Fruits Basket is a great series.

The manga goes into much further detail. the anime stopped at vol. 6 and included parts of vol. 7 and 8 in it. My friend told me there were about 30 volumes of the Fruits Basket manga(which is the longest running shoujo series I know!). the manga version is much better, in my opinion.

WHAAAAA!!!!!!!!

30!!!!!!!!

I just finished watching the anime because everyone I know was saying fruits basket this, fruits basket that, so I had to see what the fuss was about...

And now your telling me the anime stops WAY short of the manga...

Well actually hats a good thing in reality, I wanted MORE out of the anime, as in I wanted to see who got with who... Wink

due to the constant spoilers on the internet, I already know who gets who in the end and a bunch of other spoilers. but I'm not gonna tell, since I don't want to spoil anything for anyone! I don't know if they get rid of the curse, tho...

I have an honest question. I bought volume 1 of Fruits Basket from the local bookstore awhile back. I already watched the series before and I really enjoyed it so I knew it was a good idea. I generally prefer manga to anime, but the volume didn't seem to different from the anime. Manga has the tendency to include more and cover things that the anime never really mentioned. Am I wrong to assume they aren't that different? If I go out and buy the manga, will I learn even more about the series? And will more of my questions concerening the end of the anime be answered? Just wondering. Please let me know. Very Happy

the fruits basket anime ends without introducing the horse (rin) or the rooster (kureno). it ends about where vol.6 ends in the manga and we're at volume 9 this month and if you check TOKYOPOP's website, you can see the release dates for the manga. the series becomes way more messed up with kureno and rin added to the mix, so it's defenatly worth reading all the manga volumes.[/quote]
