Busou Renkin is drawn by the Rurouni Kenshin's mangaka, Nobuhiro Watsuki. Literal translation of the title would be "Armaments Alchemy"

From the bits and pieces that I have read ( meaning quite some parts incomplete ).

The story has these guys running around called Alchemists ( uh huh... Rolling Eyes

) and their Homunculi ( oh yeah... Rolling Eyes

). The hero got killed and the heroine infused the hero with this black gem ( Philosopher's Stone ) to let it become his heart. With his Philosopher's Stone heart, the hero gets insane power boost.

How they fight is basically the hero will materialise his weapon then straight out fighting with magic tossed here and there ( one guy summons butterflies to create phantasmal effects, another summons an atomic bomb which he stands on and drops along with it, etc ). Way over the top. The hero summons his weapon to destroy the Homunculi and defeat other Alchemists ( the weapon is somehow necessary ).

Actually very little alchemy is involved... There is also different factions within the Alchemists so expect your good guy, bad guy stories from there.

From the bits and pieces I have read, I fail to find anything to sustain my attention. Personally a way, way better Alchemical manga is already out there and its name is Fullmetal Alchemist.

Okay back to the topic,i like this manga not because it is interesting but it is because draw by the Rurouni Kenshinn's mangaka.

i think it has a decent story line.

but then again, i'm not too picky with my manga.

i'll read anything.

i have about 60 gigs of anime/manga and still collecting whatever comes my way Very Happy

hmmm.... i can't say FMA(full metal alchemist) manga is better or worst. i would have say it draw.... but the story is quite familiar to FMA... but the guy in it are darn brave.^^

I think chap 12 is out already (from the site that's translating it, I forgot the url) I like the heroine, but not the hero as much. It seems that this is the only manga that I know that has a heroine with a scar on her face.
