It looks like a pretty interesting game, I've never played it before but I've seen a friend playing it. I guess I'll probably borrow his PS2 and play it sometime. My friend is still currently beating it on Dante Must Die. I think he might have finished maxing out all the items though.

Is it a good game?
I played the first game along time
ago, and kinda goodd.
DMC 3 is the prequel. You should play it to understand the story better. Just love the Dante eating pizza part... _________________ What's yours is mine, what's mine is still mine.
. Yeah, if you liked the first one, you should definetly get this one. In this one there's a mission select screen, so you can go to any mission in any difficulty any time you want, which is nice. Plus, DMC3 looks better.
. The weapons you get in this game are all different, and cool. If you liked Alastor and Ifrit from DMC1, there are weapons that are similar to them, though not just copies. One of your weapons is really sweet, though I won't talk about it here in case it's too much of a spoiler. I'll just say it's a musical instrument.
. The styles are great because it allows you to do many different things depending on which style you use. Gunslinger allows special moves with guns, and/or powers them up. Or there's Trickster, which allows you to be much quicker than normal. And there's also Swordmaster, which opens up a bunch of moves for each Devil Arm you obtain which allows you to devastate your opponents and make your assortment of combos much flashier and deadlier. Or, if you liked block issening in Onimusha, there's Royal Guard. Royal Guard is a tricky style to use, but if you can master it, it's the most powerful style in the game, allowing you to block any attack, nullifying its damage, and returning that power to the attacker. However, it isn't as strong as an issen in Onimusha. There are also more styles you can get in the game, these are just the ones you start with.
. From what I've heard, DMC3 is not like DMC2. I don't know this myself because I haven't played DMC2, after hearing it wasn't so great. The main downfall of DMC2 apparently was that you were overpowered mostly due to guns being way too strong, and also the Devil Trigger.
. Well, in this game, even though there is a Gunslinger style, close range weapons are still far superior in power than guns. Devil Trigger in this game if anything, is pretty much underpowered, if anything.
Well, If you want more thoughts about this game, you could always check out GameFAQs or something.
1. inu and danta have inhuman father and a dead human mother
2. they have a weapon that belongs to their father (force edge and tetsuiga)
3. they both have a brother who is willing to kill them
4. the brothers have a weapon that belong to their father
5. the brothers try 2 succeed their father in power
6. they fight on the same side to defeat an enemy
7. inu and dante both have white hair
8. they can both transform into a demon
9. they both fight their bros
10. they can both kill other demons
Most likely considered spoilers on Inuyasha and DMC3 below
Not sure if this really can be counted, but they both have weapons that they dislike (Guns for Vergil 'cuz they ain't honorable and Tenseiga for Sesshoumaru, 'cuz he can't use it for killing stuff )
But, they both end up using the weapons they dislike. With Vergil using a gun against that blobby Arkham in the "Jackpot" scene (I think it was Ebony) and Sesshoumaru uses the Tenseiga to revive Jaken, Rin, and a few other people.
