theres probably a post saying it allready, but for a wide range of manga you can read online, free, and without resided windows and popups i suggest mangarun.com (or.org i think) <it has most of my favourites, all the big titles too.

As far as I know, no. I believe it is an anime-only story.

It's really not very surprising, considering how many anime series are original works or derived from visual novels, not from a manga source.
