| I actually enjoyed FFX-2 more then i did the first one. yes there are less characters to choose to play with and yes there were no Aeons to summon but it was a lot of fun. The Dress sphere system was much easier then the sphere grid system. and actually the dress sphere sort of took the place of the Aeon summoning. ever time the girls changed it would do a sailormoonesque type transformation. the story is sort of stand alone. i mean i think you can play it with out being too confused but it is nice to have played the first one because the story is a lot fuller. Also the nonlinear approach to the game was pretty neat. you can take your time or zip through the game as fast as you want. the graphic are ovbiously better because it is a new game. i dont know what else to add. oh yeah one other thing there are multiple endings and also you get a new game plus option so there is a lot more replay value for this game which the other FF did not have. so in short yes you should pick up the game and play it. Oh yeah if you are a guy it doesnt hurt that the main characters are hot chicks. if you are a girl it doesnt hurt that the main characters are girls its like girl power. any ways go get the game |

i prefered ffX to ffX-2
seriously i was pretty disapointed since this story was supposed to be yuna searching for tidus and well...... unless u get the 100% ending which might take 100hrs+ u dont even the slightest idea if hes there except for occasional whistles..... personally i havent finished it perfectly i got spoiled by one of my friends but i still need to finish it..... the battle system is really great in my opinion and the new game plus is essential since u need to get 100% to truly finish the game but still i wouldnt tell u to rent it cuz its still a lot of game time but if u can borrow it from some friend id say that would be the best choice. |

I agree, the story was pretty bad, its like more than one story crumble up in one game. FFX has the best story and good graphics. |

| wow i dont claim to be a gamer but it only took me like 60+ hours to finish it and get the 98% ending without using any sort of help. but you only need like 75% or something to get the ending with Tidus. It did take me another run through in the game to get the True ending. The 100% ending was all right it just add to the story a little bit more. by the way if you are worried about spending too much time why did you get the game in the first place. that is the beauty of the FF world it takes time to discover stuff. i do admit i played the game several time through to get a bunch of new stuff. by the way there are 3 endings. but the all are shown if you beat it in 100% they arent really different endings its more like they add to the endings. |

| yea but usually in any other ff game u get the same ending whatever u do so going through the game quickly or not doesnt matter and getting it perfect usually gets u something incredible like in ff7 u get knights of the round for getting a gold chocobo and u get all master materias for defeating emerald weapon both of which u can use in the game..... whats the use of an ending except maybe being satisfied |

Well, To answer your question, FFX-2 doesn't compare to FFX. They are on two completely seperate levels of gaming. Now, This doesn't mean that FFX-2 is a bad game cause it most certainly is not. However, As a Final Fantasy game, It had a whole lot to live up to. Something at which it regretably failed.
The game's story was slightly above average at best, Even worse if one were to play it as a stand alone title. Rushed and lacking quite a bit of depth, The game's plot failed to impress. I'm pleased to note, however, that the graphics were by far one of the game's best assests, Square's artistic touch clearly visible in every pixel and frame. The music was also quite nice.
In conclusion, I'd say that while FFX-2 is nowhere near as epic or awesome as the other FFs, It is still a reasonably good RPG. _________________

| i really enjoyed ffx, so i rented ffx-2, but i hated it because of the battle system. in my opinion, ffx's turn-based battle system is much more fun than real-time battling |

As Enaeius said, FFX and FFX-2 are two totally different games.
FFX's battlesystem was wait and act (A bad thing for me), while FFX-2's is real time.
FFX's level up system is much more complicated (Fun!) than FFX-2's.
And so on. So if you don't like the new systems in FFX-2, then don't get it. One can't expect somesort of similarity from FFX in FFX-2 (Other than few/lot familiar chars). Not going to tell anything about the story since that would be called spoiling? But hey, if you want to know what happens AFTER the FFX, then go on and play it and reveal all the secrets and do all miniquests =). |

FFX was much better they should've just gave it a good ending to avoid the horror named FFX2.
FFX2 doesn't stack up to FFX at all. |

| I see that ther ar mixed opinions reagrding FF X-2, but overall you guys convinced me that I should go out and get it. At firdt I thought the whole dress system was a bit too girly, but it seems as though it is actually fun. Thanks for the replies ^_^ i will go out and get it as soon as i have the chance |

| The second game was total fanboy material and you know it, and realistically not nearly as developed storywise. |
