The last episode's ending song is the same as the first episode's ending song.... which if you click on our review you would see it's ...
Nana Mizuki - Wild Eyes
I downloaded my sound track from www.boxtorrent.com I am sure you will be able to find it there if you browse. She has an excellent voice, the sound track is on my list to buy. |

okay, now that it's over, there's some things i don't quite get about this series...
What in the world started the war between the iga and the kouga anyway? Was there some sort of conspiracy with tenzen?
On that note, what WAS tenzen anyway? see below
i forget which episode it is, but that whole episode that showed the wierd thing he had living in his body that would like, eat his wounds or something, then there was this flashback about a woman being killed while still pregant. Did the baby survive, and infect tenzen? or did the baby grow up to be tenzen, and just.. somehow got this wierd thing living inside him? so wierd, totally don't get it.

I don't think they ever mention what started it.. but i do believe Tenzen has continued it for 200 years at least... or so he mentions in the last two episodes.

This series despite having 24 episodes kicked out Naruto as my favorite ninja anime. The animation, story and characters are one of the best in all the anime's I have seen. Even though the end was tragic, something will be learned from it. _________________

| I've seen a few of the first episodes and I found it rather interesting. If you're in Canada you can view it on Razor, or at least thats the only channel I've found it on. |

Here is why They both fought.
1.They hate each others guts
2.They want to serve there lords of lords the shoguns
3.pride
The shoguns used both the ninjas to chose there next leader, but this was just a deception. The real reason is because they fear the kouga and iga ninjas. I mean what leaders wouldn't be scared of them when they are stronger than you. So he used their own pride against them. As smart and strong as they are they fall for it. Instead of losing tons of men against them , let them both kill off each other. That was very clever by the Shoguns.
The story is great, but what they lack a looooooooot is character development. |

|
|
Actually the song at the end of Basilisk episode 24 and Basilisk episode 1 is called "Hime Murasake" (The purple princess). It is by Mizuki Nana and can be downloaded at Gendou's anime music.com.
It's one of my all-time favorite songs. And this is my second favorite anime of all-time. I can't believe it's not rated higher!
Interestingly enough, I honestly believe if the Kougas had discovered the Ninja Scroll first, things wouldn't have come to the bloodshed that they came to. It was because Tenzen convinced four of the other Igas to lie to Oboro about the scroll and kill as many of the Kougas as they could before the Kougas discovered that the covenant of Peace had been lifted that things got to the level of Uncompromise that it reached in episode 9.
By the time Gennosuke had discovered the scroll, Kazamachi Shogun, Jimushi Jubei, Josuke, and Okoi had already been murdered. The rest of the Kougas had lost people that they loved and wanted revenge.
