Battle Royale vs Battle Royale II

I was just wondering if anybody has seen both of these movies.
I want to know what others think about these two films and whether or not the sequel lives up to the first one.
I reckon that the second wasn't as good as the first, but then again it is pretty hard to keep up with a movie with such a plot.
what do the rest of you think?

well, 1st off i think this woulda done better in the General forum as its not anime Wink

I would have to agree with you - I think the main difference would be that the 1st film was based ona book (awesome read btw - get it at amazon if u can, you wont regret it) and the second was just made to cash in on the sucess of the 1st.

in my mind it works out like this:

Book > BR > BR2

There's also a BR manga floating around somewhere I would be interested in, if anyone knows where i could d/l it Smile

well has a movie ever done proper justice to a book... so yeah it was the best.

I loved the first battle royale Very Happy

nothing beats a good death movie in my books... Battle Royale 2 was pretty disappointing. They tried to change things up by making it one big group vs. another big group... which wasn't as fun to watch... and the deaths weren't anything special either(which is the whole reason you should watch battle royale... well at least I think so Neutral

) so Battle Royale 1 q0wns Battle Royale 2!... and must read the book

hmmm, thx for bumping this thread yoshimi - it has reminded me i need to nag, stalk, threaten (etc) a friend who borrowed my special edition BR dvd to give it back - last time i asked about it - it was at his ex-girlfriends house - i mean, WTF?!?!?! whats it doing there?!!

sorry, just a bit wound up after work and 4 days without internet while visiting family Razz

i missed watching the first one awhile back at a friends bday party cuz i was still in chinese school. however, i did catch a glimpse of the second at a lan party few months ago. it was...hilarious ^^;;. i culdnt help but laff as kids charged up a beach, just to run around and get shot, then die cuz their dam'd partner went and got shot, and ran sum more. the fact that a downed rubber landing boat would expload twitched at my funny bone.
