Anime and life

hmmmmm... id say anime/manga is a reflection of some of the pyschological aspects that goes on in the mind of the author... ppl write fan fics or create manga for different reasons: escapism, lesiure, release, and fame, only to name a few. and of course.. everything has some type of a deeper meaning, or just meaning.. even if it's just meant to make people laugh. buttttt as long as it's interesting ill read it ^^.. =P

Think all anime/manga try to make you think just a little. Sure it's great entertainment but if it didn't make you think about the possiblities and where the characters would go or react in certain situations- we wouldn't watch, read or have formus.

I like to look for the deeper meanings and speculate what I would do in certain situations. It makes me take a better look around my own life and try to do better. But hey, that's just me!

Sorry, but have to disagree with mostly everyone here. If you think anime is philosphical you will find actual philosphy really, really boring. Anime is mostly escapism and fun and fantasy, and the biggest thing it'll make you think about is whether or not it is right to kill people- basic-est ethics. Most animes that claim to be philosophical are actually only controversial and surreal. Most just try their best to confuse the audience with psuedo-philosophical mumbo jumbo like "fate is blah blah blah..." or "humans are [insert derogatory adjective here]..." or something cliche and annoying like that. The only anime so far that I've found that actually tries to be serious about "life" is Monster (notice how Monster never comes up to your face and just says what it means like Eva and the rest do. I love that). I thought Deathnote would go into the morality of the whole matter, but it chose instead to stick to the more exciting aspects (which, don't get me wrong, I love).
I am not trying to be annoying or anything, it's just- I've had the misfortune of hearing people rave on and on about how some anime is deeper than this or that, and how they're so angsty, and- oh, god, just shut up, will you.
Sorry. I just started venting.

... I guess because I look at the world in a very negative way, swear a lot, anti-hero and mostly I don't usually like the good character in Animes that much by some reasons, I always prefer villians...

Not everything of Animes that are true and not everything of Animes that are just unreal fantasy... Animes do based on Reality, but not every parts of it. There is some Animes that will really make you wonder about life and death (Good example: X/1999) and there is Animes that won't have anything to think about (Love Hina) because they are just for entertain... However, who will care? LET'S WATCH ANIMES ANYWAY!!! Very Happy

i try to always look deeper into what the anime means. yesterday i spent like an hour interpreting chobits.....what may seem just a cute funy anime to kill time with is can be very phylosophical
