| From what I've heard of ff12, the setting will be Ivalice (the Final Fantasy Tactics universe). Although, that's not really the best Idea, it's looking like they took a gamble and it's working for them. Can't wait to see the final results. |

I say why bother messing with a formula that works. But i do agree that FFVII has left our expectation too high.
According to GameStop FFXII is not going to be released till 08/01/06. |

| The FFXII look great. I like every FF series so far except the 9 one. Anyhow the graphic in FFXII seem a lot like FF XI. Since I like FF XI, i probably like FF XII too. |

When I think of Ivalice, I automatically assume that I'll have a great deal of control in the game. I really enjoyed Final Fantasy Tactics, moreso then Final Fantasy 7, so if I get to toy with a good job system I'd be very happy. From what I saw in the demo, I'm not sure if I'll have a choice of what the main character will be as far as jobs and abilities. I'd like to, but I'm not expecting it.
In terms of combat the game will be like Final Fantasy XI. Minus the horrible economy. I didn't get a chance to play the demo myself, I only watched. As long as the release is still for PS2, I'll get this game when it's available. _________________ Running from your problems only wastes time... They always catch up either way. |

Stopping by at the mall with my friends, me and another comrade stopped by at the game store. There, I got to play about a few minutes worth of the game.
Now, I'm someone who hasn't played any of the recent Final Fantasy titles (only 6 and 7), but playing XII really got my first impression of the game. I thought it was pretty cool how I was able to initiate combat with enemies while at the same time still be able to move around. The summons were pretty good too.
..yea, well that's just about all I can muster up after only a few minutes of gameplay. _________________

| I´ve never been so negative to a Final-Fantasy titel before. I hate mmorpgs and i love rpgs, and this game dosn´t feel good enough, hopefully the plot will make up for the lacking battlesystem. |

Give me a title that has beaten or up-to-par with FFVII, even coming from your point of view. It's not like Square-Enix is the only one that can use the FFVII formula that you talk of. Other companies should be free to use it also.
I say there's a lot of improvement and creativity to be done. Sticking to one formula is like painting artworks over and over agian; looking the same yet the unnoticeables are different. You may dislike the path Square-Enix is taking, but at least they're trying to put something different. |

| Well the CGI cut scenes look hella nice, I just started playing FFX (I should have played this game earlier) and I like the game and it grows on you. But from all the past FF games I missed the old medival mix look and I am glad that FFXIII is going back to that former glory. As for battle system Kinda wish they change it, can't wait for the ps3's FF the battle system seems to have changed |

I think that everythin in the double-digits for Final Fantasy have been a little lacking (yes FFX wasn't that great for me). As to the FFVII thingy, I actually enjoyed FFVIII a lot more. The whole Meteor thing never really pulled me into the game, I think the game could have been better by centering more around Sephiroth.
But back on topic!
FFXII hopfully will be the first really good FF out in a long time, and I will definately buy it, but if the rumors about no love story are true then I can't really consider it a Final Fantasy, just as FFXI was a travesty to the series (they should have called it FFOnline instead of using a traditional roman numeral, that way it preserves the tradition of RPG-ness). Hopefully SquareEnix will incorporate a love story, and hopefully it wil make up for past dissappointments.
Side-note: Is it just me, or are the RPG's getting steadily worse since Square merged with Enix? |

Well, remember that Final Fantasy XII a while back was one of the few games to have received a perfect score. Although I don't regularly play Final Fantasy games, I think that this one might be well worth it. Hopefully. _________________
