I recommend a few.
One Flew over the Cookoo's Nest - awsome book >.<
Frankenstein - movie/cartoons/w-e else, doesn't hold a candle to this
And i'm on page 200 of Shogun. REALLY long but very good. One of those that i'll prob read 18 million times. U'll def like it. I should prob pick up Musashi for later _________________ [IMG:508:164:6c8e3c695e]http://i130.photobucket.com/albums/p252/inqArk/Original_sig.jpg[/img:6c8e3c695e] |

I would also recommend Memoirs of a Geisha, partially because my love of it preceded my love of anime so I've got a soft spot for it, but partially because it's been seven years and I still remember some of the images from it.
What are some other authors you've enjoyed besides Clancy? I know far too many books to just go off of on author if you want something different, sorries. It comes with being an English major and almost as in love with books as Yomiko Readman. (Example: I seriously have verbally apologized to books when my college started boxing them up to be put in cabinets--no one will be able to look at them unless they ask for the specific title because there isn't enough room for the books. It was really sad!) _________________ One of the old fogies of A-S. Sheesh. I'm not even old. |

What I can recommend you:
Everything by Friedrich Nietzsche
Everything by Platon
Those to men are maybe the ones with the greatest minds ever although their ideology differs totally.
I don´t know if their books have been translated to English, though. Would be a pity if not...
But if you do not like to think whilst reading, you should not touch those books. |

Books are interesting, books are fun.
Books that are good for you will make you run.
....
Dr. Suess books rule the universe (and then some).

Lol, did you make that rhyme up? It's entertaining?
I don't read many novels, and if I do I read all books from the same author. I can suggest what NOT to read.
"The Grapes of Wrath" by John Steinbeck
"On Liberty" by John Stuart Mill
"The Republic" by Plato
"On Writing" by Stephen King
All those books can be a cure for insomnia.
I wouldn't recommend these books, but these are the ones I like (I don't really have a specific genre, I just like what I like)
The Crysallids (suspense, supernatural)
Harry Potter series (fantasy)
Ender's Game (sci-fi)
All books by John Saul I love, but I liked: Shadows, and The Presence the most. All his books are slight horror and suspense

Ender's Game is good read that a while back... the next book to it was really bad.. Ender's Puppet or was it Shadow? I forget but just read Ender's Game by orson scott card. Also the Dune series is awesomeo... only get the ones by Frank Herbert and not by his son(forget his name) cause I hear his son butchered the series pretty bad. and like others have said before Dan Brown is a good bet _________________ Urgo... living in Vancouver now go Calgary Flames! |

Lullaby and choke by Chuck Palahniuk. I love the way he writes. It’s a lot about people’s true nature and what goes on in the mind of the unstable. It’s not for everybody but then again he did write Fight Club
