Hellsing (OVA)

I can't wait for this one to come out. I'm a huge fan of Hellsing, why must they torture me by delaying it!?

The new release date is february 10th... Hpefully it won't get pushed back again.

The website has another great display of engrish: There is a "HELLSING I OVA DIGEST FOR FLEAKS"!!!! Laughing

so what was this that i just dled and watched? its labled as trailer and seemed like the first few eps of the other hellsing anime condensed into 1 ep.

I hope that the ovas are good, i liked hellsing but in the end i thought it was missing something i hope the ovas are that something.

I just watched the Bakafish release.

I've watched the Hellsing anime (maybe six months ago or so) & have not read the manga. This release felt like a condensed retelling of the anime; it seemed like several episodes of the anime crammed into one. I don't recall the knife-crazy priest showing up so early, & from this one episode, I prefer the anime's slower pace. Victoria goes from helpless cop to zombie slayer in two seconds in this version; there's no depth. I sure wasn't expecting the shift to the cartoony-style animation when it happened, either (when Victoria woke up). Going for teh funny strikes me as very out of place in the Hellsing world.

I'll keep watching, but so far? Meh.

im fairly certain that that was a trailer.....thus why it felt so condensed and rushed.

The anime will actually airs on 10th of February (mark this on your calender well)

The ones that are just released are just a little teaser, although it was a damn long one, from what I heard (I haven't downloaded it, because I know it's not the real deal)

I can't wait to see this show! I just started reading the manga (have 3 tankoubons), and I want to check out the old school anime as well (it's been a few years). Alucard rocks!

Why is it named "Digest for Fleaks"? They obviously mean "freaks", if they don't know English, they should at least use a dictionary jeez.

That's what I say too. It isn't the first time they screw that one up either.

Anyway, this had better be a trailer and not the final version. Simply put, it is the first and the last few chapters of the first amnga volume. I guess that it is ok for a trailer, but without the stuff in the middle it feels rushed. The final verision should be out in a couple of weeks, so that's ok.

Unfortunately I don't like the music for this OVA too much, at least of the stuff that was shown in the "fleaks" trailer. One of the things that the anime did well was use an excellent soundtrack, but the music for this relese was not quite right. Maybe it is an acquired taste.

I guess that the voice acting also take a bit to get used to, especially since I watched the english dub of the series (the only dub that I actually enjoyed) more recently than the japanese audio. Alucard doesn't sound right to me... His voice should be more relaxed.

Well, the final version should be... interesting.
