Anemone is a spoiled brat normally but when she gets those injections.. boy does her personality change. Pyschotic to say the least but very amusing character.
She is definitely related to Eureka in some way and i'm beginning to think some of those LFO's are actually biomechanical like Evangelion as it was pointed out.
The military LFO's are definitely mechanical since they blow up and you see parts and machinery flying apart when they get destroyed. Their helmet with the eyes is very cool though.
The 606 on the other hand looked like it was bleeding something like LCL when it lost its arm to theEND. Oh well, Anemone is cool =)
Just watched episode 12. That was nice. That was real nice.
Not so much on Anemone, but the series is finally showing some muscle. Renton's dream sequence was well done. Of course, it's symbolism and that's not pleasent all the time, but the writers worked to keep the scene coherent and try to make the symbolism accessible. Moreover, they not only used not to develop Renton's character, but gave hints about Eureka and Anemone's true natures. It was also a nice touch to see Renton break down like that. He's still just a normal kid.
The gunship battle was also nicely done, although not as good. The aspects of the trapa were integrated to give it a level beyond shooting back and forth. It seemed more like a sea battle than an air battle, which synchs up nicely with the idea that the trapa works like a wave.
To sum up what I thought of the dream sequence...Renton was both inside and outside himself. Giant Renton was sitting a fashion remenisent of how he sits in the Nirvash with Eureka. His inner self is still Renton from episode one, locked up in the small town whether or not he realizes this. This is either a comment on Renton directly or a broader statement on the human condition, that being that our minds are in smaller worlds than we like to think. He does have disdain for the small town folk, but he also holds himself in that same disdain. The butterfly, capable of seeing things that he can't, tries to lead him out of the small mental world. The butterfly, representing both sex (the mating discussion) and perception, is probably his concept of Eureka. Eureka has helped him realize the confined world he keeps himself in and leads him to what he's searching for (toilet scene). However, he's afraid of what he's searching for (the giant toilet). The girl who pushed him, who had Anemone siloulette but Eureka's skin tone, is the perceptive forces that originally seemed gentle (the butterfly) now aggressively sending him towards what he desires (the push), which it turns out is a violent and alien world (the big fish chasing the little fish).
The fridge was Anemone's own mind, which she's tried to close off to others, maybe. When Renton reaches inside, she feels violated and identifies it with a sexual violation. When he persists, she shows herself to be more powerful and aggressive that Renton's original perceptions told him.
Finally, Renton is back to his own inner world, which is the drab and ineffectual thing he originally associated with joy (his reffing spot). In noticing that the larger Renton is the Nirvash, combined with the way giant Renton was sitting before, he's noticing that his physical presence is still elsewhere, with the Nirvash. Anemone is like the sky-fish, which can percieve effortlessly what humans can't at all, but she's different from the sky-fish in that she capable of conceiving of malice (the red coloring and the speech). Of course, the malice speech also reflects the state of the world in general. By transforming into a shark to devour Renton, she associates herself with the dangerous and alien things from before (the giant toilet).
Finally, when Eureka and Renton are holding hands in the lake, they're showing a willing bond. The water could be baptism, suggesting a capacity to be reborn while everything is being destroyed around them by the ignorance of others (the mushroom clouds; not only mass destruction, but man-made). The appearence of Renton's sister suggests that Renton's mindstate became closer for a time to what she was seeking and that some of the mysteries she found where revealed. Also, he still has a connect to her through this mindset, by way of the peripheral elements of the Nirvash and the Amita Drive (which we know Renton already associates with her).
As for the Vascud Crisis, if the trapa is somehow linked to human consciousness (something hinted at already), then Anemone's weapon might create some kind of negative feedback by inverting the trapa (which we know Nirvash did in episode 2 and which produced the same orange-red trapa lines) and working against the normal communication the mind has with the trapa.
Can't say why they broke out. Maybe Renton found a mindset in which his natural communication with the trapa became stronger than the feedback of the Vascud Crisis. Either that or deus ex'ed his machina. I'm sure there will be technobabble later.
And that's all I have to say about that.

well my main question would be
Anemone said that Renton called for her, that's why she came... however Renton called out for his sister... now how does Anemone, and possibly Eureka, be related to Renton's sister...
also at the last part, is he at the center of the Coralian? where he saw his sister for a glimpse... and also why are they after the Coralian, or try to get in the center of it in the first place... The seat of God, as they called it

never thought of it that way mistabean, but thats an interesting idea ;
when he said she wasnt who he was calling for i immediately assumed he meant eureka and not anemone. Sadly ive lost all sound on my pc so i was only able to watch and read. As you say it looks like his sister. She(and probably his father) are/was deeply involved with whatever is going on here.
Also the last scene where he sees his sister at the lake, its probably jsut one of his memories. not sure if the center of the coralian has anything to do with him seeing it(it probably does knowing my guesses), i think its more likely a memory because everything happening to him in that ep was due to anemone and the weapon she used with theEND.

well the next ep would be much more interesting... when
Nirvash again reacted to Renton's feeling... and both Anemone and Eureka are somehow suffering from something
well back to ep 12
Renton was having a dream, and Eureka tried to chase him... but then again Anemone was inside Renton's dream... maybe it is theEND's Vascud Crisis, however Nirvash was unleashing some kind of the same power awaken by Renton causing both to intervene with each other...
and then at the end... maybe it was the Seven Swell Phenomena again...

i laso thought it was the seven swell, as the amita drive was activated(unkowingly by renton, but probs cos he was in some serious shit at the time). If it wasnt then the only other thing that could have done something similar may have been the coralian?

well then ep 13 has been subbed... and
A new term!! Despair Disease!! Something to do with Compac Drive...
Well it seems Dominic regarded Renton as the same as him... until Nirvash was reawakened by Renton again...
not only he, but Holland and Mischa didnt understand what is happening currently... and us the viewers too!! Dominic was asking in the end... "Renton, just who are you?"

yeah not only is anemone and eureka different(which renton finally realises now), we know that hes different aswell. Not only that but Holland was eager to know wht renton saw in the "zone". he looked almost psychotic when he wanted to know what renton saw....

dont forget
The smile, almost a relieved kinda expression... when Renton said he saw his sister... makes me wonder why...
a little thought...
Connections between Anemone/Eureka and Renton's sister...
They are clones of her... that is why, Anemone said "You called!!" in the dream when Renton only screamed out for his sister... Weird isnt it, that her face nor her name, is not mentioned yet this far out...
and Renton's sister are somehow trapped within the Zone...

k, Eureka Seven 13 has been out for a while, so ill end the spoiler text... if u havent watched it, then too bad...
kinda weird, wasnt it? the
"clone"
thing, mistabean, was it your idewa or a spoiler for thing to come? just wondering. and what was with holland at the end? whats the connection with him and renotn's family? oooh, the suspense!!! oh well, does anyone have any ideas? _________________ [img:397:200:2fb029b052]http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/5003/kyo11d1041058je.png[/img:2fb029b052]
Life is full of little moments. Moments that can change your life. In battle, you must conquer your fears for the one moment! Death or Life?
possible that his sister was working for the military, which is where holland ran into her. The sister was probly studying the corelians for the military and traveled into one to test it out and never came back. This would explain hollands interest in the events as well as the militarys.
Renton's sister may have some genetic ability that let her inside one. Because of this anemone and eureka might have been grown/modified to be able to do the same. Because of this gentic disposition renton was able to follow eureka through to the "zone" and was the only one awake when they came out. Since eureka/renton and anemone were the only ones going in may give weight to this line of thinking.
As for dominic and hollad, i dont think anyone has ever remember what went on inside before which is why both were very interested in hearing what renton saw.

that is only my thoughts and speculation... like kfm had said... renton was the one who went to the Zone without being affected by it...
Dominic and Holland never been to the Zone though IMO... _________________ ...
nice specualtions mistabean! i wouldnt be too surprised if thats the case but i have my doubts. For one thing why does rentons compac drive show eureka when he seems to be emotionally distressed (it also happened when he was a child and with his sister)... .I think anemone and eureka are sisters and related to the coralian in some way, maybe theres something like another race, connected to the traper, remeber there was that ep where the government LFO's got pwned by something we're not shown. Also during the time they were in the 'zone' i think renton was also calling out for eureka, and thats why anemone thought she was calling him.
I think either holland was in love with rentons sister at one point(im assuming he knew her before he met talho) although im not too confident about that assumption. Holland has a photo of renton and his sister together somewhere so it must of been a close reltionship of some sort. Close enough becuase when renton said he saw his sister in the zone, holland was some what glad/relieved ^^
