I had it and lost it as well but I can always just rent it anytime from the rental store downstairs. I think Nausicaa is really well done and distinctly Miyazaki since as usual you can learn so much from the story. It was made in 1984 which is the year I was born so I'm particularly attached to this title even though my first exposure to Studio Ghibli was Laputa: Castle in the Sky.
I have the soundtrack for this too, it's really great. The music let's you remember scenes from the movie perfectly. |

It was very good, but with Shia LeBouf as a voice actor, I wish I had it with the original voice actors. It was a beautiful and moving story, but it left out an entire book from the manga.

Nausicaa is a great movie. I downloaded it a few months ago subbed, and watched half of it on a plane ride (I became so engrossed that I was surprised when the flight attendent told me to put my computer away). This was Hayao Miyazaki's first big movie and was actually what gave him the money to start Studio Gghibli in the first place. Definitely a must watch if you like Hayao Miyazaki. In fact, it's a must watch even if you've never heard of the man. Nausicaa doesn't have any of the beautiful CGI scenery of Ghibli's later releases as it was made before CGI became maiinstream, but the animation is terrific for its time period, and the story and characters more than make up for this more classic style of animation (assuming you have a problem with the classic style in the first place).

Nausicaa is out in a 2-dvd edition from Buena Vista entertainment. I heard it was released a long time ago as "Warriors of the Wind", and that Disney did something with it that made Hayao Miyazaki not let them release any of his titles for another 10 years. I agree that Nausicaa is a wonderful movie. In fact I think all of Miyazaki's movies are spectacular... he should write a story that could be made into an anime TV show. _________________ [img:400:224:9a48d672c1]http://comalies.free.fr/images/ergoproxy.jpg[/img:9a48d672c1]
Which is worse? The madness of following Tao, or the madness of an existence without awareness?

I liked it but after watching I realised that he just about used the same idea again for Princess Mononoke.

I own it on VCD. I loved it the first time I watched it a few years ago. I watched it again a few days ago and while it was still excellent, it seemed a bit dated. I felt that it didn't have rich enough sound.

the movie? your taking about the movie? personaly i love nausicaa, i think that it's Miyazaki-sensei's greatest work. i beleve that he poured his hart and soul into the project, but this is the manga i'm talking about. personaly i just hate the anime because it is a dumbed down vesion of his origanal idea and thats why i hate it. what i hate the most is that it was his original idea. like butcherin your own hands. but i do love the manga[/b]

Well, I enjoy this movie just as much as I enjoy the manga of it. I have to say, this one is quite interesting, and educational in certain sense, about the human, the nature, and the way we've been damage the earth, and doom our own future...
