yes, this is a one episode OVA made by one single guy on a mac. intensely dramatic, it conveys huges ammounts of emotion in the short little time it uses. _________________

Makoto Shinkai has a new one coming... but it was supposed to have been released last year. Whatever.
I personally thought there was very little character development, but the animation and concepts were interesting. I saw more value in the creator's work than with the story itself. See for yourself and decide. |

I don't think there was any character development at all, but the story was very touching. Find a girl who uses her cell a lot, let her watch it and she'll be really moved by it.. _________________

this is one of my all time favorites. And he's actually produced a few things... in the dvd I bought it had some weird animation of a girl and her cat. don't really remember what it was about
and the new one was supposed to come out a while ago, but it's been delayed over and over. it's like the promised place in our early days.. or the promised place beyond the clouds.
you can go find it in the reviews I believe, in the B section. (B for beyond) _________________

I see. Does anyone has links having the creator talked about how he created Hoshi no Koe and his other home studio projects. How cool would it be if we could come out with our own anime one day!!
Yea, I love the way he made the viewer emotional through the story telling. |

In the DVD there's an interview and he talks about making the 25 min film and shows him on his computer.
But no there isn't a step by step process where he tells you how he does it. _________________

LOL true it was a rip-off for the DVD but I bought it anyway, since I really like this short film. I even bought the soundtrack which is also a rip-off. Only 27 minutes of recording, but it was worth it. You get quite abit of extras in it like the interview and 6 trailers on the DVD. It also have 2 version of the film, one with Makoto Shinkai himself and his wife doing the lead voices and the other version with voice actors. Not forgetting "She and Her Cat" one of his earlier works.
If you really want to know more about Makoto Shinkai work, here is an unofficial link:
