ne news on eva live action?

i dono if i should watch the eva live action it might make me hate the series. also zzzzzzz they changed asukas name into a gay name forgot but it was english name and instead of rei its ray........... english actors too... y not just make it in japanese then sub it into english they look much better that way. also its suppose to come out in 2010?

Wow really, A live action eva? First I have heard of it. I have never seen a live action show based on anime. I know they are out there, but I have not seen one.

iv herd bits and pieces here and there, first time iv come across a release date tho. only thing i can recall at the moment is that shinji (or watever english name they gave him) is prospectively to b playd by harry potter

Almost everything except the designs by Weta that have been posted all over the place is unfound rumors.
Personally, I think this is one pointless project simply trying to milk the money cow that Eva is. All that there was to be done and said is in the series/movie or the manga. I guess I understand why they do it, Eva has already turned into a franchise and has lots of fans around the world (most of whom will probably despise a live action movie but oh, well... Smile

) If the movie makes a lot of money I hope Gainax will use the funds to do something good (it's been a long while since their last exceptional project - FLCL). If not, the production budget is mostly American money so their problem ^_^

u kno eva is like a 8 yr old anime and when it first came out people said it would be the best anime and today its still very popular T_T please dont ruin it lol that was one of my first anime i watched that i reali got hooked on i mean liek i talkeda bout for like 2 weeks

last i heard, it was in Anime Invasion, which changed it's name to something else, and they said the people behind the LOTR were doing the special effects.

Hmm.. about that harry potter, i heard he couldnt do it cause he has an 8 or something movie deal with the harry potter thing. IM not sure on this but i can see him turning his back on that for a year to do an eve project. Id also like to see another great thing come out of gainax. FLCL II Wink

i just hope, that even if the special effects rock, they won't pull a starwars!

i want them to focus on the acting and not deviating from the original plot too much. you know, keep anno's direction intact and distinct. don't "americanize " it. personally it seems to me it would be better suited for a japanese audience, since it has a cult like following over there. i don't think there is enough of a fan base here for the film to be successful at the box office.

I have seen some of the sketchs&designs from Thai Anime webboard, and I have to say that they look suck... Sad
