in 1995 (or so, not sure wheter its before or after) tokyo has been destroyed by a totally new bomb. this caused the third worldwar to start during wich most of the worlds big cities were destroyed. then the world started rebuilding. now as the story starts its the year 2030 (i think...has been some time since i've read it). we see this guy, kaneda, and his friends riding their bikes through new tokyo. then through some coincidences a member of their gang, tetsuo, gains a power. this power has been created by some scientists and is mostly possessed by children. these children have numbers tattooed on their palms (the ones with the numbers from 20 to 29 are the strongest). akira was one of them.
there is much more left but i dont want to tell it all, you ve got to find it out yourselves. (hint: use google or wikipedia if u want better summaries^^)
ah i almost forgot: does anyone know where you can get the music of the movie?
