uuh, i feel kinda dumb having to ask, but i keep looking on my website settings and i still don't see my points. which section r they under?
i am wondering since i dl some amv's how many i have left now

Currently the point system does not subtract points as 'cost' from your point pool when you download from the direct downloads section.

However, this is something we have been thinking about. Let us know how you feel about it. Would it prompt you to be more active in a positive manner on the website... or would it turn you away?

i looked under the faq/ direct downloads rules and i saw kaiser pic of his page shows the points total, but mine doesn't say that there. i have a .jpeg of what mine looks like, but i don't know how to attach it if u guys want to see it.
if u started subtracting pts, it wouldn't turn me away from the site, but u might end up getting goofy news posts from ppl trying to help their pts or something depending on how many it subtracted. Wink

i would try to find good news, but i doubt i hear much u guys don't hear like a month before.

Ummmm I'm having trouble finding out my points too, and from what I observed, downloading an anime episode is 5 points. Maybe that's a bit too much? 3 would be better. Perhaps there should be a link explaining the point system and rules, if there's any.

downloading huge files like that takes up quite the bandwidth.. I actually would think that it would get more expensive to download (once they get more anime series up and more people are active...or more active than now *looking at member stats* so many over 100)

5 points is pretty cheap if you ask me. any less and we'd end up wearing out their servers :p

Also, I hear you may be wearing out your servers, anyway. I think Kai said you're going to be taking down the direct downloads because of the strain.

We're moving toward changing the content to totally 'free' stuff like manga and maybe small downloads like Anime Music Videos. I think this will please people more than having to worry about points and all.

Anime Episodes is more efficiently downloaded through bittorrent and IRC and puts large strains on the server.

it seems like my post number increases by the number of times i preview a message, in addition to submitting it.
is that right? is it a bug? since it seems like we are having more spammers than usual lately it might be xploited.
