I tried to make Japan #3 but failed, I think I put the heat on too high on the microwave so the yeast died...

will try again in the near future.

Regarding romance in Yakitate Japan, definitely Kai and Monica. A more
subtle unspoken romance is Kazuma and Tsukino. Kazuma in the early
manga is treated like a idiot savant (genius idiot) because of lack of
knowledge of making specialty breads like croisants. He later shows he
thinks throughhis short and long term goals In a early story arc he is
given the chance to move to the main Pantasia store to achieve his goals.
He declares he is staying at Tsukinos branch even if others (to avoid a
spoiler) go. Another example spoiler ahead
At the end of the monaco world bakeoff when it was found out
that Pantasia was bought out and Tsukino is depressed Kazuma puts on
her ring finger the mvp ring he had won. His excuse was it was a gift in
exchange for her hairband she had given him and it was just in his way

Kazuma is the hero who must achieve his goals #1 to create the greatest
Japan bread that people will love to eat #2 close second is to protect
Tsukinos Pantasia, first her store then all the stores, from St Pierres and
enemies without and within (like evil step sister Yukino).
